Maybe I missed something: Is Noxias a wizard, or swordmage? If the latter, then I definitely retract that. Otherwise, he's a squishy, and you know it.

That's a Forgotten Realms preview, but it's a class in PH3 that Umiushi allows, if I recall correctly. I thought you may have taken advantage of that.

So far as I know, classes are not duplicated across more than one book and Swordmages only show up in the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide, which I don't own. I'll consider allowing Arcane Defenders the day that a decent Martial Controller shows up. I also don't think they're a good fit for my campaign setting, where spells do not generally have swords as their foci. For now, sword-wielding magi should play eladrin like Noxias, or take the appropriate feats.

Oh, I'll miss Marc, as I was looking forward to having a right proper PC defender in the party and a holy defender to boot! Now we are a party of squishies..

swordmage is under hybrid classing in PH3, which umi doesn't allow. Also swordmage has stuff in Arcane power. Seeker COULD be a martial controller (kind of close). I like the swordmage though. It has one of the best effects for a mark (absorb damage if not the target). Of the defender classes, umi only allows three of them. But, I might swing towards a fighter if Zephyr ever dies.

Either by luck or superior character design (I like to think the latter

), I did pretty well against multiple ranged enemies. Also, I think my kill count was the highest in the last encounter (even if you count KOs as kills).

So maybe if I can figure out how to wear leather armor I can be somewhat more helpful.

I agree that Noxias was effective. I'm just always on the hunt for a flanking buddy for Rogur.

and defenders do well as they can mark so squishy rogur stays alive.

I don't mind having this discussion here, but I will point out that the General Discussion thread was made for this sort of thing. It's pretty dusty after having not been used for nearly two and a half years. Doing it in the OOC thread is fine, too.

The hard drive is dead. Loss of information for the pbp game should be relatively minimal, but it was my system drive. The impact on my time in addition to what I already had going means my next few posts will be spartan.
