There is a new edition of the game up now which adresses some of the concerns expressed above as well as adding a host of new material to the Game. It's called the Justice Edition and promisses to be the last change in the game for some years to come. In addition, there is now an Lower Case version available for people who find all caps difficult to read. there is a book of creatures and characters, and a lot of pogs for use with Game Table. check it out and let me know what you think.

Well, it turns out that instead of creating an faq page I've produced a New Edition of Super Crusaders which is much clearer and better thought out. It's called the Paladin Edition, and now all 3 books have my own favorite P.C. (The Mighty Paladin) on thier covers.
Unfortunately all 3 books are a bit longer but it it still uses the same basic mechanics. It also has more and better artwork and It's still free for now. check it out and see what you think.
Reviews frankly have ranged from "Just aweful" to "the best game since D.C. Heroes". I didn't make either of those up. But both are kind of vague so gimme some useful comments and questions. Please.

With what I've looked over thus far, I find it intriguing. What I find intriguing is the angle you've taken to approach the superhero rpg. It is remniscent of TRUTH & JUSTICE, CLASSIC MARVEL RPG, VILLAINS & VIGILANTES and an old game I once owned called HEROES & HEROINES.

When I look it over in detail, I will give you a more detailed critique.

I will say, however, that your Jesus page seems Catholic-centric. Normal Christians don't appreciate the elevation of Mary to the Mother Goddess role to ease with converts...erum...I mean to be as important as Jesus and such.

You confused me at first. I thought you meant the page in book 3 of the game that talks about religion in a superhero world. Which doesn't mention Mary at all. It took me a moment to realize you were talking about My other book.
I guess the best response is: 2/3 of all Christians are Catholic so we're the "Normal" ones. Also we don't concider Mary to be as important as Jesus, after all, she may be God's greatest creation, but Jesus is God the Son.

Anyway hope the Game stands up to closer examination, and it's unique features stand out so that it can escape from comparisons.

Oh, I understand about Mary...I was raised Catholic and am currently a Buddhist by choice. Historically, however, don't forget the Church used Mary to convert certain pagans by closely resembling a mother goddess figure. And, to any outsider the elevation is confusing particularly when you go into detail about the Visitations and the Miraculous Medal and the importance of Mary (not Jesus) appearing to several children to become a true mother goddess figure (at least in an academic sense) for Mankind at large.

For religions, for some reason other than to be inclusive in some way, that word "we" often gets to me. Not in a bad sense, it just makes me chuckle.

I see God, or however you want to label the Creator in a way you can refer to him/her/it as the revelation of "truth". An example of what I mean by this is to take a multi-facted crystl and hold it up to the sunshine. What happens? Is there one, true beam of light that shines from the crystal? No. There are a multitude of rays that emanate from the crystal. This is what I perceive to be "truth" from "God". Mankind is notoriously self-deceptive and we chose to listen to the serpent in the creation story. Choice. Belief is like opinions as everyone sits on one.

I am personally impressed in the offerings of your (currently) free website. To have the contrast of religion and gaming that has often been related to the Devil's handiwork is genius, whether you consciously chose to do so or not.

In any case, I certainly look forward to going in depth with your game this week. I'm sure it is wonderful...it certainly utilizes the elements I love from other games...and offers a fairly comprehensive random rolling creation option that reminds me very much of the way Classic Marvel used to do it. However, I will give you my critique (a fair one, no matter how I lean as I always find something good to say with anything) by the end of the week, sir.

    Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is now an AUTO CHARACTER SHEET CREATOR available for SUPER CRUSADERS ! using drop box menues to fill out various fields including origin class powers, bonuses and limits, weeknesses etc... It's on the Game website so that everyone will have a chance to take in the glory of it.
It was not easy to create. Drop boxes can only be inserted into certain
types of files. Word, only alows 25 items on a menu so it was useless for my powers list. The online form creators that I tried would only allow one
object/line which made for a very long hard to use form, and HTML editors are so complicated that without someone to teach me it would probably take many months to figure one out.
I spent all day saturday downloading and trying one program after another to
see if it could do what I wanted and then deleting them when they didn't work.
I finally came across Open Office which worked great but the files cant be
opened in any other program so you have to get Open Office if you don't already have it. Fortunately it's free to download and theres a link to the downloade site on the game site.
It still isn't everything I wanted it to be. If anyone out there knows how to fix it so that selecting your class automatically sets your stats please let me know. Or, if it's really complicated, please do it for me and send me the finished file at leewalser@hotmail.com . I'll put it up on the site, and let the world know what you did for me, so that millions of other people can spam you with requests for help. (don't worry,I wouldn't really post your e-mail adress)

I enjoy your system. It has a simplicity I haven't felt in a game since my all-time fave, the Classic Marvel RPG (which, believe me, is high praise from me). It has a toolkit kind of feeling that I think would be recommended to those GMs who want a fast, quick system that could both provide and deliver for the sake of gaming purposes.

You pretty much thought out all you need for a basic game while leaving ample room for GMs to both add to and expand what is there for their own purposes. I feel this is always a plus, as I am bored to tears with systems that try to over-analyze everything, including what kind of fabric your character wears for his uniform underwear (is it caped, or is it Memorex...spend the points to make certain).

Character creation is a breeze. I created a Level-0 character named Mega-Man in about fifteen minutes (and that was only because I needed to look at where the information was listed - it will be even faster, now that I know where to look). He seems very cool to create other versions of him for other games (like, say, Marvel). Any game that helps me to create a character that would work well in another game system is always a cool game system to begin with. Kudos on that, whether you planned it that way or not.

For a basic game, it is worth the price of admission. Perhaps some thought is needed for complete well-roundedness (such as rules governing elder gamers, like myself, who might want to play a character with a proven track record [just how many more PUs would a character like that get? 50 more? 100? Would it depend upon how many years that character has been around? Would added PUs mean added Weaknesses that MUST be taken to compensate? You know, that sort of thing.]). The very fact that I got to that place in asking myself questions about the given rules and wanting to see more speaks volumes for your system.

All-in-all a VERY good start with VERY promising horizons. Good luck with this, and I hope to see just where you plan on taking your creation!

Of course I know that. I tell you what, If it makes enough money I promise to hire an editor and put out a second edition but right now all I have is the spell checker built into JARTE and you can see just how well it works.

I know I have trouble with spelling. throughout my years of school I struggled with this. Not once did I ever pass a spelling test, and we had them every week. In high school I would turn in papers that would always get Bs and the teachers would explain that it could have been an A if not for the spelling. Some of them thought about taking 1 point off for each mispelled word but if they did it would mean an F before the end of the first page. When I first started typing, and added typos to misspelling, my work looked like a foreign language. So trust me when I say that I have been working on the problem, and I have gotten much better. But still, as soon as I can afford it I'm getting someone else to do it.

For now, may I please have comments on the GAME and how it works. was it fun to read and play ? Was it easy to use or were there parts that didn't work or weren't clear ? Did you like the pictures or were too many pictures distracting ? Please give me some feedback I can actually use.
