Tala is an albino male individual who was raised alternatively by Thri-kreen and by a tribe of Painted Elves. It has always been assumed that he was an elf, due to the unusual circumstances of his discovery as an abandoned babe, one from a far and distant land. Recent events seem to cast doubt upon the distance of the land, and upon the exact nature of his race. Originally trained as a sorcerer, he has recently discovered that the stones and sand of his childhood call to him and whisper secrets of power into his heart. He has become a sandshaper, a twist of fate that the destiny prepared for him may not withstand. (sorcerer/sandshaper)
Nadem, free spirit, cheerful and humorous, despite his unfortunate habit which frequently cause him to be expelled from civilized quarters, originally trained as a psion. His over-fondness for fire in all its forms reaped unexpected consequences when he died the worst death a pyrokinetic could ever imagine-plunged to the depths of the cold dark deep of the open ocean. His flame burns brighter yet, for he returned from death. Transformed by the knowledge that underneath even the ocean flame burns bright, his experience wiped clean most of his former training.
