I know I'm really late in discovering this but I've just finished the reading the archives of Order of the stick and I found it to be a wonderful read. Not only is it hilarious with 4th wall breaking jabs it takes about the rules and cliche fantasy RPG scenes. But I also feel that it is turning into a really good story and one I would have been ecstatic about playing a character in. What are your thoughts on this quirky web comic.

I used to read OotS daily but I haven't been back in several months due to other distractions. The last events I remember reading involved Roy's "Heaven" escapades. But yeah, I really enjoyed the comic for all of its tongue-in-cheek, self-referential satire on D&D and RPGs in general. It's a great comic and one that anyone who plays RPGs (D&D especially) should read.

If you enjoy OotS and aren't aware of it already, I think you would really enjoy 8-bit Theater as well. It is less D&D-centric but it is hilarious all the same. In some ways, 8-bit Theater's humor is a bit more cunning and I have laughed aloud several times throughout the series.

Both are excellent comics and worth checking out.

My halfling bard is kinda based on Belkar.

Belkar is awesome...I think because I've known PCs like that in some of our D&D games.

Three fantasy based comics I read are:
    Looking for Group http://www.lfgcomic.com/
    Ding! http://www.crispygamer.com/comics/ding/
    Goblins http://www.goblinscomic.com/

The first two are heavily influenced by World of Warcraft but still are funny......at times.

So far I must also have to go with Belkar as a favorite. With Elan a close second. I know Belkar is an easy favorite but I can't help myself. When he brings out the sheet of lead I nearly cried from laughing so hard. And the "I'm a sexy shoeless god of war!"

goblins is humorous. i've been sorta following the girlgenius comics, probably because of the resemblence to the old phil and dixie comics. ^^ as in, once a month or two, i'll catch up what's happened since the last time i checked.
