Great Movies for the D&D Player

The other day I watched a short film called 'The Gamers' by a group called 'Dead Gentlemen Productions' that I felt perfectly captured what it is to play D&D as well as poking fun at some of the flaws and funnies of the game.

In fact it was after watching this film that I realized I had the ability to finally get all the needed books etc. to get into the game again, which led me to these very boards.

The movie also has a sequel coming out that looks very promising.

Anyways what I wanted to ask you is: What are some great movies that you would recommend to fans of D&D and why? (And the first person to mention the Movie Dungeons and Dragons gets a prize lol j/k)

Supporters tend to argue with me that roleplaying is separate from the system and can be strongly supported in any game. I always encourage them to write a history for their iron token in monopoly and discuss the motivations for passing go.

Hawk the Slayer -- A bit on the campy side, but the whole thing watches like you wish your games would run.

Krull -- Another very D&D Movie. Adventuring party, lost prince, fate of the Kingdom, implacable foe, magic the whole ball of wax.

Garry AKA --Phoenix-- Rising above the Flames.

It's from 2002. Meanwhile 'The Gamers 2' aka 'Dorkness Rising' just came out.

Well I doubt you'll find anything by 'Dead Gentlemen' unless you look online.

Wow, I never thought I would hear anyone say it was good. The 80s D&D cartoon style (missing about every 10th frame even) mixed with CGI was enough to give me a headache. The story was 99% on but the reading off the cue cards voice acting was making me laugh the whole time. I really think the headache killed it for me because I didn't expect much and I got less. Still if your a D&D fan and have not read the old Dragonlance book or played the adventures I think you should see it (or listen to it if the animation give you a headache), just don't pay money to see it.

As for movies I think D&D players should see
    1. The Gamers
    2. The 2nd D&D movie Wrath of the Dragon God

Both are fun, but they wont be winning any oscars.
    Playing: Pathfinder
    Running: infrequent VtM game
