I definitely agree. Half-Orcs need to be in there. I'd also like to see more variations on the classical races. Shield dwarves, gold dwarves, gray elves, high elves, wild elves, etc.
What PC races would like to see come out for 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons?
Half-Orc: It has been one of my favorites. (I hear it's coming out in PHBII.)
Blue Goblin: A smart goblin trips them up every time. (It's like a blue Yoda.)
Delvian: Or some other plant based PC race. (Yes, I know Delvians are from Farscape, but they'd fit right into a fantasy setting.)

I'd like to see them move more away from Tolkien. Dragonborn and Tieflings are an OK start.
I miss Hengeyokai from AD&D's "Oriental Adventures": animals (and plants?) that can assume human form. There's other mythological precedents, like selkies and swan maidens.
Or maybe they could steal from C. S. Lewis and create intelligent animals with prehensile paws and upright stances. (For fun, though, perhaps they can only run full speed on all fours.) Imagine bears, wolves, oversized mice, tigers ... and cat girls might be enormously popular with the fan base.
Honestly, though, since most folklore and fantasy literature involves exclusively human protagonists, I'd really like to see a port of "Traits" from Iron Heroes. Essentially, every (human) character gets two traits, which represent their background (e.g. Desert Born, Noble Born, Artisan, Child of Faith, Nomad), physical characteristics (e.g. Short, Tall, Nondescript), or mental abilities (e.g. Bewitching, Perceptive, Eidetic Memory). Some are simple +2 to a stat or skill, but the ones I listed, particularly the Background Traits, would make being a Human even more interesting.

3.x already has trait rules-optional in the unearthed arcana, but there.
i would like to see a wholely non-standard fantasy-based array of races. and by non-standard i mean not borrowing from any of the "commonly" used mythos of earth. (norse, celtic, oriental, egyptian, and so forth.)
that or i'd go the other way and have a well-designed cosmology which incorporates them all into a tight fighting universe. so you want to use all the typical fantasy races and mythologies? well come up with a good story line, borrow and modify until you have a unique result. dragonstar made a decent foray at this method.

Hmmm. Unique, new races I would like. Honestly, even expanding the player versions of the humanoid races listed in the back of the Monster Manual would do it for me.
A reptilian race (though dragonborn fill some of this)
A winged race
A Tauric race (like a centaur, wemic or whatever)
Underdark races that are not just evil and/or higher powered versions of the standard races.
Ditto for aquatic races.
Part of what I liked in Eberron was warforged, shifters, changelings and kalashtar.
Personally, I was never into half-races of any sort. (short of some twisted mage forcing magical cross-breeding) I really don't want expansions full of 31 flavors of elves or any single race. And no "joke" races like the Dragonlance gully dwarves, kender and gnomes. A character or NPC may be comic, but I don't need an entire race of buffoons.
Those will probably be addressed in the “Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide“ or “Forgotten Realms Player's Guide”. I am pretty sure we will see the Drow there.
About "Moving Dead Trees", Ravenloft had a version of the "Undead Treant", unless they revive that setting, I don't see that race coming back soon.
