    i know there is an unofficial star wars gurps game. is there an unofficial star trek(or any of it's descendants) games.

    Amarillo Design Bureau offers GURPS Prime Directive, which is close to a Star Trek game. It's set in their "Star Fleet Battles" universe, which is a sort of "alternate world" of The Original Series where all the species from the old series, and some new ones they invented or borrowed, got into a galactic war at some point.

    If you like your Klingon's smooth-headed and your female Starfleet officers in mini-skirts, that's one way to go.

    There are a number of unofficial builds. And if you don't like smooth Klingons and miniskirts it isn't that difficult to move it up in time.

    Prime Directive is a good start to a Trek game. I have a copy. It can be a bit difficult to find. But it gets you the basic character templets and equipment.

    I personally do not like the Star Fleet Battles "universe". For me Star trek is not about endless ship to ship battles, but it's about the Strange New Worlds aspect, the seeking and finding thing.

    Someone is doing it.

    Looking over "Captain Joy's" Templetes and lens he is a splitter. Separate skills for skill for each piece of equipment for example..

    A skill for housekeeping? Why are we spending points on that?

    " Your hobby may not be something overtly useful to combat and adventuring e.g. fencing, a martial art)" It seems a particularly gamist restriction. Fencing? Really? How often do starfleet officers have a sword with them?

    Well I'm not playing in his game. The more I play the more of a lumper I become. It wars with my desire for detail. However, time and tide have proven that lumping makes for a quicker and more satisfying game.
