Local Groups that seem to not really do much

I have noticed the posting of a group in Pittsburgh, PA that is supposed to be meeting on March 1st. I have previously been on their site about a year ago and after setting up my profile, I was then able to see that none of the members had been on for either many months and in some cases a year or longer. I had kept logging on for maybe a couple of weeks, but when noone else was logging on, I stopped even wasting my time on that site. I have been watching and from what I can see, noone has signed up for it yet. Is this just a fluke or is this common? Was wondering if anyone else had this same thing happening in their area?

He may have his own site that he posts updates on. My gaming group mainly uses our personal site for stuff like that. Usually only me (the GM) and a few select players use these boards for anything outside of trying to actually find other gamers.

I think it's pretty common that this board just get used for it's registry function and maybe some of the play by post features.

DUDE! Learn not to fart in people's faces. Some groups need help getting started.

<sigh> Yeah its pretty typical actually. Lots of people set up web presence but when it comes down to meeting they do not even exist or meet once a millenium.

Its always best to get talking to people personally as soon as you can to find out what's what.

That's why I am scared about designating myself as looking for players here.

I am, but I need to make sure I have some anchor players first.

One reason I refuse to put anything on my website that is not finished. No "coming soon" no "new chapter next month". Here is, that is what you get. I have been burned by too many good bits of writing that have "next chapter later", and that was two years ago. Sigh!!!

The only problem with that is people might take it as a complete work when you know you have more to say on it, you just may not have time. While I hear what you're saying. I still wouldn't want someone thinking I'm an idiot because my obviously limited (or incomplete) thought was advertised as a finished work.
