this is more space opera than supers... but emperor ming. hard to top him for sheer evil. you could make a case for a techno-villain, right?

I've said it before and I've said it again: Clay Face. There is just something so romantic, in a tragedy sense, about his story. I truly felt for him as a human and as a villian. My favorite representation of him was definitely in Batman: The Animated Series (pictured below).

This thread already exists, as well as a hero thread. Nobody really posted there as well. Most people are too busy D&D and complaining to come to the Superhero sub-forum.

so by what criteria are we calling a villain 'great'? that's what stumps me. despiciable, evil, heartless, sly, wicked... those i can rate a villain on. but greatness? i guess that limits it to redeemed villains, in which case, i would tend to vote for darth vader.

What makes a villian great to you. If you enjoy them, for whatever reason, and they are seen as evil by the general public or superheroes which are clearly good, then I think they fit here.

Harley Quinn is my favorite female sidekick of all time. She is just so sexy and her wicked sense of humor is delicious.

(Hmm. I don't read Marvel, but their villains are, I think, a bit better. I mean, it's not tough to be better than the Bronze Age version of Terra Man.)

How about MAGNETO?!! He's reoccuring, cool, angsty, rival of Professor X, really believes in his cause (like Collier in 4400, maybe), intellectually brilliant, loyal to his followers (except maybe Mystique, but that was just in the movie, I think--I doubt he'd have left her behind, myself), father of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, lover of Rogue (I think that was in a possible future), etc. He's just awesome. Show some love for the greatest villain of all time, IMHO!
