Anybody else been courageous enough to pick this one up yet? I'd like to hear what one of you Dragonlance fans thought of it. I just wanted to add I'm a cartoon junkie. I still watch those horridly low-budget kids cartoons sometimes and I enjoy them. This movie however... I just couldn't stand it

I finally got a chance to watch this tonight. In the interest of giving a fair review, I forced myself to sit through the entire length of the movie. I have to agree 100% with what Mulsiphix said here. The animation was very, very bad. The voice acting was for the most part terrible. Although, I will give some credit to Kiefer Sutherland. There were some lines that he delivered that really rang true with how I imagine Raistlin speaking.

As to the story... It has been a long time since I read the original Dragonlance books -- probably on the order of more than fifteen years, so I don't exactly remember that much of the story. I did, however, notice that the story was abbreviated in places. That is pretty much to be expected, though, when translating any book. The Dragonlance story is basically a good one, but the poor animation and delivery absolutely killed it. Had this been my first exposure to Krynn, I doubt I would be interested in reading more, and I certainly wouldn't be interested in watching a sequel.

never was a dragonlance fan. never quite got into the books. but that might be just that the authors styles don't seem to click with me. for whatever reason. ^^ i did like the irda, however. i always got the feeling that the whole idea of dragons jousting was a oneupmanship of ren fairs. the time traveling ideas were interesting, though.

on the other hand, i never really got into dark sun either. and me being a psionics fan, and all. go figure.

I've had that happen more than once. Books people raved over, but I couldn't get into that author's style. Once again the reason the bookstore has so many books.

You are a stronger man than I. I commend you on your dedication to watching the entire film. Being the B-Movie fan that I am I was quit surprised at how impossible I found it to sit through more than fifteen minutes of the movie. I'm glad to hear I didn't miss out on anything though. If there was an award to give brave souls like yourself for sitting through such media, I would happily deliver it to you on bended knee. Well done Sir

Hooknose the White did not approve of that film. I didn't get to see it. He ate the disk.
