    How to determine Hit Points

    My group has come upon some confusion on the subject of hit points for a certain enemy. The enemy would be a Ochre Jelly where its hit points are described as: "Hit Points 45 (6d10 +12)". Would this mean the hit points are 45 or 6d10+12 or perhaps the two multiplied?

    the average or exact half of d10 (10) is 5.5.
    5.5 x6 = 33. 33 +12 = 45
