What die do you use when it says 1d-2 or 2d+2

Well, "d6-based" could mean other things ... but yes, the only die type you need in GURPS is a d6.

Yup. In GURPS it's always d6.

    1d-2 is 1 six-sided die minus two: roll a 4, subtract 2, your result is 2.

Mac to PC? Yeah, right. That's like turning a kangaroo into a hippo.

I can't even believe Mac's are still around.

MacOS X is based on BSD Unix, and I know a lot of people who swear by them. If it weren't for the price, I'd get one for myself. (Caveat: I've got my desktop and laptop on Windows, but I'd rather run Linux.)

To Wastelander75: What really matters is the file format. A lot of formats these days are interoperable on Mac and Windows, so it might just be a matter of copying the files onto a DOS-formatted floppy (or thumb drive) from the Mac and onto the PC. You might have to change the line feeds on a text file, but there's free converter programs for that.

Was the character sheet created by GURPS Character Builder or Character Assistant? I'm not sure how interoperable those are.

Also, if the character sheet is viewable in a text format, you may be able to cut/paste the sheet to a standard email body and mail it to your self.

Here is the link to the site for it. I may have to "borrow" my wifes mac to run this and print it out.

Have you looked into the Character Assistant that SJ Games made? That helped me a lot when building characters for GURPS. It's $15 bucks, but well worth the time it saves you looking up rules and figuring out points.

    Gurps Character Sheet

Following the Download link from the URL posted above, there's a Windows version right after the Mac, source, and Unix versions. It also appears to write .gcs files as XML documents, so you should be able to copy them from one machine to the other with a floppy or thumb drive (or by mailing the file to yourself). You might not even have to worry about linefeed differences between Windows and Mac.

I just got GURPS Character assistant. I like it because it is pretty thorough and it comes with good instructions.
