I don't know if there's an X-Files game out there. I'm not really interested in another game, but that show was great. On another thread people were talking about real life parroting fiction and vice-versa.

Does anyone remember the Lone Gunmen and their short-lived spin off series?

Their pilot episode aired on March 4, 2001.

Here's one if you can read the text.
    I had some difficulty there.

You might take a look at GURPS and GURPS Horror. They might provide you with a decent framework for recreating the feel of X-Files. Mind you, I've never tried GURPS Horror, but GURPS in and of itself would give you enough to go on for a modern paranormal campaign.

Actually, there are several good X-Files styled games out there.
    Conspiracy X
    &
Delta Green (for Call of Cthulhu)

are a couple that I'm keen on at the moment.

X-Files makes for a great target theme, and does not need a game system specific to it. You can use games like PhishStyx suggests, or any of the generic/universal systems to take care of the mechanics of play.

What made the X-Files great (to me) is the story and the connection between the episodes, the greater conspiracy and the fun stops along the way. You can bring that to any game as a dedicated GM.

I've never chased it down, but I always thought it would make for great inspiration in a cmpaign.

You could always do it with the Paranoia rules.

Also, I don't know how you feel about D20 Modern, but the "Dark Matter" book is basically a supernatural conspiracy theory setting, or could very well be used for that.

We're getting ready to start a DM campaign here that will pretty much be a take on X-Files.

The Lone Gunmen played D&D, so it's fitting that role players play them.

So, who or what role plays us?

We role play exciting things, superheroes, super spies, great fantasy heroes... just greater than what we are.

So, in what reality are our 'not so exciting lives' role played?

    This one!

You mean there are people in this reality who roleplay going to work on a daily basis, sitting in the office pushing paperwork, then going home to the ever dull hum drum life, kicking back on the recliner and watching Family Guy?
