OpenSUSE Linux 11.4 64 bit both computers. Oh and a cranky old XP box that is seldom turned on. I have 11.0 on the stereo computer.

Depends where I am. My home machine is running OpenSuse, but my laptop is running Windows XP.

I've been wanting to ditch that laptop and get a Mac, but the costs are prohibitive. Once I can finally get it running as a hackintosh I'll be set, but the hardware seems to hate that idea.

The reason Mac tend to run smooth as silk is hardware/software integration. (Tend to because there is always one in the crowd.) The price you pay is the price you pay and living in St. Jobs'; version of North Korea. Nothing goes in or out that Apple does not approve of.

Windows is like 1880s New York, fairly comfortable, you can do what you want as long as Tammany Hall (Microsoft) gets its cut.

Linux is less the wild west it once was. You still need a degree of computer savvy to get it to run well. However once you do it runs Mac smooth and wild west open.

I'm using vanilla Debian on my desktop, still using CrunchBang on the laptop.
