The game will begin in the silver wasteland, outside the gates to the devils' sanctuary.

Due a revision of the rules, Magic Item Daily Uses will no longer be kept track of. I edited some of the equipment since last time to make some corrections: Kathra used a sunrod in the ruins of Norin Trugvad and her belt pouch broke from storing a large quantity of ducats that were transmuted to lead; and some of Ion's consumable equipment hadn't been listed in the previous roster.

"Welcome to our sanctuary. You will no longer want for food, or water, or shelter while you live modestly and work diligently within these walls. You will be free from wars, pestilence, and disaster for the rest of your lives."

The party found themselves in a silver-colored wasteland of fallen, lifeless trees and the ash-like remains of undergrowth. There was no food, water, or wildlife to be found. Chant and Ion managed to determine how to drive the bone cart, lacking any other means to transport the lapideon monolith.

On the second day, a troop of devils was discovered. The party dispatched them with ease, and left one survivor to be questioned with the promise of a swift death if he cooperated. The devil related tales of a "sanctuary" to the east with food, water, and shelter, and claimed that it was the only habitable region in the land. It vanished as the party prepared to execute it.

Setting out to find this community, the party traveled into the night, and entered a land even more barren than where they started from. At day break, they were spotted by a flight of harpies, led by a devil. When they claimed to seek after the devils' sanctuary, they were allowed to pass unmolested, and given water to see them through their journey.

By nightfall, the boundary of the city-fortress was reached. The place was unlike any they had previously visited: a massive, single structure spanning a league in width. Everything looks like it was constructed from a single beam of wood, a beam the size of an entire forest.

Here, the party must make its firm decision: to surrender and be taken within, or to stand and fight at the gates against the wrath of an entire city.

Synopsis
Within the great city, the population of the island toils at simple work caged inside a strict hierarchy of workers, guards, and overseers. The weeks passed slowly while Kathra, Chant, Orthrum, and Ion were separated and assigned to different tasks. Eventually, they were able to get back in touch with each other.

Chant managed to become an overseer of sorts, and discovered the purpose of the lapideon monolith: a blunt force tool that can breach the calypsos between two worlds. Chant had prematurely discharged it when the party retrieved it the first time. Now, he plotted to do the same once more.

The bonds of arcana were much thicker in this land than in the Bright Kingdom. In order to re-infuse the monolith, it was lowered into a great pit in the ground. The Arcana of Earth would be released by the devils in a ritual blood sacrifice. Chant planned for the party to use the restored monolith to travel back home.

Ion, Orthrum, and Kathra caused enough trouble that they were assigned to participate in the completion of the pit. There they met with Chant, who had hidden everyone's equipment in this location in anticipation of their reunion. Ion succeeded in rousing the shaft workers to revolt, and in the confusion the party retrieved their belongings. However, the devils have responded in force.

The game will begin as the party seeks out surviving workers.

The roster below will reflect the party's status after their upcoming short rest.

I want to note that, unlike in the case of experience points, PCs gain milestones regardless of whether the player is present or absent, as long as some player runs the character through the relevant activity. (Thus, Kathra and Chant are credited for recent combats where their characters were played, but Orthrum and Chant are not credited for the prior skill challenge, which mostly occurred "off-camera" for them.) The action points gained are one way to make up for the healing surges spent, even when the PC isn't being controlled by his or her player.

Synopsis
While the party has thus far proven its superiority to the devils in combat, the reverse is true when it comes to the others inside the shaft. There are signs that the devils are in the midst of carrying out their program of mass sacrifice; the groups of survivors are becoming separated and vulnerable; and the party hears of countless enemy reinforcements converging from the outside. In this increasingly desperate situation, the party seeks out one of the remaining groups and plans to take a brief respite before confronting whatever lies between them and the lapideon monolith at the heart of the pit.

With no further cards left to play, the only direction that does not lead to an ignominious death is the one that leads directly to the heart of the pit, where the lapideon stone silently drinks the blood of the party's slaughtered comrades.

The game will begin on the morning after the party's arrival in Eskaton when they are due to meet Ricarz Cairnmead.

As a reminder, everyone's equipment needs to be updated. Please try to have at least a rough draft of your correct equipment ready for Saturday. Most character sheets appear to only list the equipment as it appeared at the beginning of the campaign and do not reflect expended and acquired items. The roster below can be used to help in this regard.

Synopsis
The weeks spent in the mortal realm only turned out to be a few days in the Feywild. A month after the party's return, during the height of spring, the county of Gwyren Ogleth was in a state of near-siege. Those who had not fled outright would not venture beyond sight of the walls of the nearest fortress.

While Chant was away, conducting business for the Flamehearts, Fells summoned Ion, Kathra, and Orthrum to explain the emergence of a new threat: his research led him to discover that the devils have the ability to interfere with the Kingdom's teleportation circles. He performed a ritual to seal off the Holdfast's own circle that fortunately passed without incident.

However, Countess Riam had called a council within the fortnight to come up with a plan to deal with the threat from the Devilswood. Without the instantaneous transportation of the teleportation circles, the dignitaries would have to travel overland to reach the county seat. At Fell's request, the party agreed to escort Judaerif Faintsong, the Bishop of Eskaton, to council.

Before their departure, Fell also asked them to tender his apologies and offer of amends to the owners of the horses that were killed when the party last set out. One of the horses belonged to a King's Knight, the other two were owned by the Omirgin family.

During the journey to Eskaton, the party encountered Hyadein Treasuremap again, now recovered from his wounds. He was looking for his sister Iyaum, who went missing with a party of rangers a few weeks before. With no further leads, and nothing requiring his presence, he joined the party.

In Eskaton, Judaerif enthusiastically accepted the party's offer. Her also intended to bring along her assistant, Loyshi, and Ricarz Cairnmead, the Bishop of Talinoat, who was visiting the area. With promises to be introduced to Ricarz in the morning, the party retired for the night.
