This article more for video games than tabletop games, but I would think some of the concepts would cross over. Particularly the commentary on perceived threat giving rise to the fear of death.
I've been out of Horror for about a year now and was just remembering some good times horrifying players and their characters alike.
Then I got to wondering what some of the favorite tricks, traps, monsters, etc, the other people here who conjure nightmares for funzies have frequent their campaigns.
