JPatterson. You should check out Dragon Age or the new Fantasy AGE system. It was written by the same people who did the Warhammer system but is much more D&Dish. Only Three character classes, grittier and darker than D&D, but still retains some bits from the WH game such as Damage reduction for armor, spell casting being dangerous. Plus it is a relatively rules light system, has some interesting bits of its own, and a kick-ass stunt system.

Actually yeah I have looked at Dragon Age and it did immediately make me think too, that it would be a good alternate for Warhammer (I didn't realize the WFRP did it) and I like the stunt idea and such - I wondered why it seemed at least a tad similar to WFRP3. Rules lite is a huge selling point for me and I like Feng Shui and games like that so the stunt system seems good too.

I don't hate WFRP2 and its predecessors, it's just they're, to me, a bit expansive and not in a good way - not horrible, but not altogether ideal. Thanks for reminding me of Dragon Age. I haven't seen Fantasy AGE, don't know anything about it but I'll check it too.
