I've always considered campaign logs/journals to be stupid and of no use. When I wrap up a session, no matter how long it's been, I remember EXACTLY what was going on and what had been resolved or left hanging... and I mean ANY amount of time, whether it's a day or well over 15 years (for a continued campaign a while back).

And then I started with my present group. One of the guys is an extremely anal retentive log keeper...

And I've found that he writes crap down that I completely forgot. Sure, it MIGHT be stupid and unimportant, but, on the other hand, it may not be!!

I won't do it - but I no longer scoff at those that do.

I finished the write up for the Megatraveller and Adventures in the New World GURPS games this weekend and have posted them in my facebook notes and here:

    http://blog.myspace.com/max_writer

The GURPS game is before the Megatraveller game (as that game came first) so I apologize for any confusion. There are several entries for each on MySpace and a single one for New World and two for Megatraveller on FaceBook.

This is a very fun read, Max. I feel like I'm reading another "Lovecraftian" novel. I really like how the GM incorporated the mythos into our modern religion/culture. It seems to me that Lovecraft would have appreciated that.

    Max,
You're blog reflects and actual game? I've just scratched the surface. I no longer need to go to the library. I might have to drive down to Raleigh!

Yes. All of these are from actual game-play and as accurate as I could make them with what happened at the table (aside from sometimes cleaning up dialogue a little bit so it makes actual sense in some cases). I also sometimes summarize or cut the boring, redundant, or irrelevant dialogue.

I've audio-recorded the games since about a year ago (maybe earlier) and I try to keep most of the details in (especially the role-playing). Before that, I taped (at least) the main conversations that took place in the game.

I run Delta Green tonight and play in a Call of Cthulhu game Sunday btw. So look for more entries soon.

I just looked at the Delta Green site. Very cool! I didn't even know it existed. Cthulhu's come a long way. I remember picking up the boxed set back in 87 in Monterey, CA. I felt very quite proud of myself that I even knew who Lovecraft was. Most of my peers didn't. I couldn't get too many people into it at the time. I used the system to play movie horror type games. Michael Myers was one of the nemeses that the characters encountered. They liked it but I never really got to enjoy the Lovecraftian part of it.

Delta Green is a blast. I ran Delta Green Friday and it went fairly well. You can read it here (in nine parts 1-0 through 1-8):
