My gamer buddy just suggested BattleStar Galactica, He said certain episodes gave him some Traveller inspiration. I would have to agree.

Each of these flicks have aspects that are Traveller in some way or another, at least to me. I'll add more in later.

Natural City I really like too. It has a nice setting of a low/mid tech level planet with slums with some high tech stuff tossed in. I just don't understand why people insist on comparing it to Blade Runner. If you have not seen this movie, put it in your head that it and Blade Runner are totally different films and you should not expect Blade Runner. You would probably enjoy it then. I am currently watching Earth 2, a 21 episode TV series. Very Traveller like colony situation. You can stream it off Netflix currently.

I REALLY liked Pandorum, despite the reviews. Sci-Fi just doesn't get the love does it?!?!?!

Two shows really remind me of Traveller: an old one and a new one. The old one is Blake's 7, with its stainless steel spaceships, submachinegun-wielding goons, and rogue psionicists. The new one is Bodacious Space Pirates, which, despite the name, is mostly about keeping up with paperwork and the drive maintenance schedule, has a galactic empire that controls the space between the stars but doesn't interfere with planetary governments, and relies on jump drive technology for interstellar travel.

Late to the party, but C.J. Cherryh's Chanur books (sorta). Information was limited to the speed of transportation, the Hani could be said to resemble the Aslan, there are numerous races (couple of methane breathers).
