    morgan asks if anybody in the group can read what is on this chest located in the back of the room. I don't Recognize writing and it is locked.

    It is a language that looks a little like a combination of dwarvish and Gnomish with pictographs. If you have either of those languages a Int check. DC is 10

    tough lock eh. I would hate to break open and ruin the box. It looks like it might be worth some money. going to give it another try?

    there is a slight hiss as the locking mechanism releases. Morgan carefully opens the chest. Within is a bottle with what appears to be 10 lozenges, a gold sextant, a book that has a hasp lock on it. The leather covering is of a dark green. A bag that contains triangular gold coins, nothing that anybody uses that you know of. There is about 100 of them.

    The interior of the chest is lined with a red feltlike material which speaks of high quality.
