GenCon '09 - Interview with Louis Zocchi of GameScience

Being my first time at GenCon and having never seen GameScience dice at my friendly local gaming stores, I experienced what could only be referred to as sticker shock as my pal Craig stopped by their booth and picked up a set of $35.00 dice this year. They weren't made with solid steel or anything, just regular looking translucent plastic, and stranger still, each had a noticeable blemish. Nonetheless, he assured me that they were well worth the money and the booth had lots of people around buying their dice, so I had to find out why.

When I requested an interview, the friendly folks at the GameScience booth directed me over to Louis Zocchi as the best person to talk to, and now I understand why. Louis is a boisterous storyteller and provided what turned out to be a very lively and energetic interview. I had originally intended to transcribe this, but that really wouldn't do Zocchi's storytelling abilities justice. Luckily, the recording came out fairly well even with the constant drone of GenCon crowd in the background.

Part One: Thirty Five Dollar Dice -- What the Hell? (20:41)

Part Four: Louis Zocchi Crucified (6:45)

I'd to thank Loius Zocchi and the rest of the GameScience guys for taking the time to tell me about their great product. You all made a believer out of me. Definately, Farcaster. Also, can you imagine what it would be like to have him sitting at the game table running a character?
