If you go to the vBExperience Ranking page, how is it that 2 users actually have negative points?

I don't know; good question. I only look at the first page at all the super-participators.

If you look at the ex log in thier profiles, you'll note the listing for infractions. They have negative xp because they were naughty.
Go to the user's profile, there is a set of tabs that you can click on up at the top. Click on the one marked PP&G Experience. It gives a breakdown on how much XP the user has, and where it comes from: Posts, Blogs, etc...

I have no problem with it for i have been outspoken about doing away with levels and titles, but i do question the math & true motivations when others are given anywhere from 100-1000 referrals during the overhaul to bump their experience and levels, referrals they didn't recieve. If this were just about doing away with General Chatter points-which i'm fine with, then referrals wouldnt be added to pad their profiles. Kind of makes true intentions a bit transparent, don't you think?

Sure you do. Anyone can see the transparency if only they looked. I think 100 & 1000 referrals given (nice even numbers, BTW), respectively, makes motivations quite transparent. And i'm not talking about the points per referral, but referrals in general, so don't play politics. Taking the limelight off of a valid point is just insulting.

Thoth,
Are you referring to the number of points that it says for referrals? Since 100 points are given for referring someone to the site, if that the person had 100 points from referrals, that means they referred one person. 1,000 would mean they referred ten. Is that what you are talking about?
Is there a section on the site that lists the points awards?
