    RPG Bucket List

Does anyone else have a "bucket list" for RPG systems/settings they'd like to play even for a session? I'm sure I'm not the only one who owns more games than he plays.

    FWIW, here's mine:

    • A Penny For My Thoughts [indie]
    • All Flesh Must Be Eaten
    • Cinematic Unisystem: Angel, Buffy, Army of Darkness, or Ghosts of Albion
    • Glorantha: HeroQuest or Mongoose RuneQuest II
    • GUMSHOE: Fear Itself or Trail of Cthulhu [indie]
    • GURPS 4e (any setting)
    • Monkey: A Journey to the West [indie]
    • Reign
    • Savage Worlds (any setting)
    • Time & Temp [indie]
    • Traveller
    • Tunnels & Trolls
    • Unknown Armies
    • Victorian retro-future (e.g. Forgotten Futures from Heliograph)
What's in your collection you're aching to try out?

Geist: The Sin-Eaters, Hunter: The Vigil or generic World of Darkness. I'm not particularly interested in Vampire or Werewolf, though.

Deadlands: Reloaded. I actually run this system all the time, but I've never gotten to play in one. I feel left out.

Paranoia. This one looks like a lot of fun.

Just one - WFRP (the newest edition)

I bought the basic game plus one expansion...I'm still waiting for the opportunity to run it for my gaming group.

Nothing old school or nostalgic, actually some new games, or relatively new games:

Dresden Files: Have known about FATE for awhile, have the Dresden RPG on PDF and love the way Evil Hat was able to capture the flavor of the Dresdenverse.

Eclipse Phase: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! this setting. It's refreshing to see sci-fi RPGs evolve from science FICTION to things that are seemingly plausible based on extrapolating things from present day, real-life happenings and tech. I'm hoping I can talked my group into trying this one out, even if I have to fumble through running it.

Eoris: Haven't seen too much about this one, except for some of the free downloads for it I got a while back. A review I read called it a 'New Age' setting...with what I have and discovered so far, I would have to agree.

Alpha Omega: Simply put, a much better thought out setting from Shadowrun, with a truly novel magic system. I have the core rulebook and am itching to run or play in this setting as much as Eclipse Phase.

Interestingly, both Eclipse Phase and Alpha Omega, at least for me, have found a way to have great fluff, rules that are chock full of crunch without taking away from on the fly judgements. It's refreshing see to see systems that give clearly explained expectations for the RAW player while allowing for a lot of leeway or 'I want to do blah-blah-blah (for something in which there is no specific or related rule)...ok to do that you'd need to yadda-yadda-yadda".

I have two lists, actually. One for running and one for playing. I'm one of those souls that enjoy being behind the screen about as much as in front of it. I love the look on my players face as a plot unfolds and the drama starts, seeing the look of wonder as a game world starts to unfold in their eyes. Anyways, on to the lists!

    Run:
Eclipse Phase: This game came out of left field and stole my heart.
    Dresden Files: Simply amazing.
Trinity: An older White Wolf game that I've always been dying to run but never had the group for.
Demon: the Fallen: I love the themes and religious overtones in the game, but finding a group both mature enough and interested in it seems impossible.
Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader: Gritty gothic sci-fi? Yes please!

    Play:
    Eclipse Phase
    Dresden Files
    Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader
7th Sea: I've had soooo much run running this game, I'd love to actually play it sometime.
All Flesh Must Be Eaten: Again, great fun to run but for once I'd like to have my brains on the line!

    In no particular order:

    Pendragon
    Heavy Gear
    Aces & Eights
    Fading Suns
    Mouse Guard

All the above are long term campaign style games. I usually get to play many games with small arcs or one-shots.

No bucket list. However I'll try anything that intrigues.

The only games I'd love to play but haven't are:
Call of Cthulhu - I love the setting, normal people walking blindly into dark places seeking out horrific creatures. Role playing in that environment just sounds like a lot of fun.
Pathfinder - It seems kind of silly that I've yet to play this game. My local group jumped into D&D 4E and we haven't really had any desire to change. I'm sure with a bit of effort I could track down a game of this though.

I would not call it a bucket list, but there are a few games I would like to try playing or running.

    Shadowrun 4th edition
    Shooting the Moon
    Splicers and/or Cthulhutech
    Warpath and/or Leverage
Star Wars D6 -- running a specific campaign that has been in the back of my mind for over ten years now
Dead PCs Game -- a homebrew campaign in which everyone roleplays their favorite characters who have died in other games

If there's any browser rpg I'd want to play, it's Drakensang Online ...aside from that definitely Deadlands: Reloaded!

    Call of Cthulhu
    Paranoia
    Shadowrun 4e
    Traveller (by Mongoose)

And maybe the one I am least proud of Star Wars d20. Not that I feel like I nerd (I have learned to suppress that feeling, and use girlfriends as alibis) but because I'm such a SW fan and I've never had the chance to play.

I also have online gaming tools I'd like to get to use sometime in my life but they're a little off topic.
