    Dice Roll Testing

    Just for those who may not know - dice roll syntax is :

    PHP Code:
    [roll=(# of dice)d(die)(any additional modifiers or dice)]Description[/roll]

    So, for exampledie roll for 2 10 sided die - 5 would be :

    Is there any rule about rerolling if your stats don't equal a certain amount like how in D&D if your modifiers didn't add to +3 you were supposed to reroll? My stats only average out to 10, which maybe that's fine or whatever, I'm not sure how this game works exactly.

    Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn."
    Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn."
    Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me."

    Did you consult Table 1A on the Character Creation thread after you finished with your rolls? You add the modifier listed on that table to each roll as you roll it. So, accordingly, your rolls of -


    • 9
    • 14
    • 14
    • 7
    • 8

    would be converted into -

    • 12 (9 + 3)
    • 16 (14 + 2)
    • 16 (14 + 2)
    • 10 (7 + 3)
    • 11 (8 + 3)

    From there you can place those modified rolls in any stat of your choice - but just be aware that whatever modified roll you put into Stature and Luck will be halved (rounded up).

    Boot Hill stats are based on a 1 - 20 Attribute score, with 10 being "average" (5 average for Luck)... so the modified rolls indicated above would be above average.

    However - the only stipulation I'd have about re-rolling stats would be that everyone would have the opportunity to do it if one person did (just so it's fair)... then each of you could take the best rolled stat list and use that.

    [Note : - I'm working on getting the most relevant rules laid down in sticky format so you guys can see how much of the system works. Since I can't really lay down the entire rules book, I have to paraphrase as I go... so please bear with me... I'll get most of it up this weekend barring any unforseen time restraints.]
