Been thinking about this for a bit, and assuming that I'm disregarding the current continuity (because it's essentially a cancerous mass of stupidity at the moment):
Rockin' Avengers-
She-Hulk (Chairwoman)
Luke Cage (Field Leader)
Thor
Darkhawk
Tigra
and Aaron Stack (aka Machine Man or X-51)
My dream team of Avengers would be:
1) Beast
2) Moondragon
3) Captain Mar-Vell
4) Black Panther
5) Giant-Man (Bill Foster)
6) Yellowjacket (Henry Pym)
7) Jocasta (Janet Van Dyne [basically])
8) Thor (old school version)
9) Doctor Druid (he got the shaft in bad characterizations)
10) She-Hulk
The team would have a couple of characters seasoned in various areas. Moondragon & Mar-Vell are the cosmic characters. Beast was always the best X-Man who actually did something cool with his life when the original team split up. Yellowjacket is one of the founding members while Jocasta is what would be left of the Wasp. Giant-Man is an old friend of Pym's whose relationship with the original Ant-Man was never developed (but finally could be in this line-up), Thor is not only another founder, but an actual god. Doctor Druid could be the team's mystic without being so pompous and poorly developed. Black Panther is not only a long-time Avenger with experience but he is also a political figure. She-Hulk could be the team's legal advisor and give Gyrich a run for his money after researching the law when it applies to the Avengers.
Alas, it is just a dream. This would mix new ideas with proven turmoil and angst. What could be better for the Avengers but a return to old times when they could be any number and fought all sorts of threats from all over...epic to mundane to just plain weird.

I would have a team of

Pym as Wasp (If its modern) Or pym as Yellowjacket (which he uses his shrinking/growing powers)
and I am tied between Machine Man and Vision.
If I am remembering right I think they tryed to keep 7, but I could be wrong.
