Ahh.. Listening to this made me long for going back to GenCon. It's been a couple of years now... Some good tips in there though -- definitely practical.

Farcaster created an article Chat Room: Exploding Dice in Home
Now that we've settled in with the new chat room software and I've finally managed to get the dice roller stable, I've started working on expanding the dice rolling functions beyond the mundane roll-x-die-y-times. The first and most requested feature was for exploding dice. And what red blooded...

I think there might be a link the chat client for a user focused manual, but I can't access it at the moment. Damned firewalls at work. I noticed some oddities with this as well and planned to work on it. More accurately, I think it would say d20 (16) + 2 (2). That is accurate, but not...

It looks like you can get a log of the chat the same as you could before. There's a "See chat history" button. Can we get a list of the full commands anywhere FC? I was looking for them last night and couldn't find any. Also when you roll dice and add any number (like /roll 1d20+2) It...

You only received the "generic" systems because you had not gone into a specific section to upload your file. If you were in the Fantasy section, you'd get the fantasy options + generic. It is already possible to reference a URL, but I may have only enabled that for special guests and...

For now there is not. That isn't a feature they built into it, but there is a way for me to approximate it outside of the flash interface using their API. Basically, you'd reserve a room through P&PG and then it would password protect it under the hood. Not sure.

That seems fine to me. As far as I know there's never been more than 2 other rooms in the old chat anyway.

Just an update. I turned my attention towards getting a new chat software setup for a while, which was involved to get things like dice rollers working, etc. I'm wrapping that up, so I'll be coming back around to the Downloads section soon.

You cannot. It only allows creating rooms from the admin panel or through the API. I may add an external tool that will let you reserve a room, so to speak. But that will be later on. For now though, you'll have to use the pre-generated gaming rooms.

I approve so far. The nicest chat I've seen on any vBulletin. The only problem I have with it is that I rolled a 5 on a d20 with my first attempt, so I don't think it likes me very much... Also can we not create our own rooms anymore?

Also big on Pathfinder here if you are running one and I'm very much behind the real character vs min maxed one deal. Online though is probably how it would have to work with myself. We use a lot of Roll20.

Very cool. From the little I read, that setting seems pretty awesome -- definitely up my alley. Alas, I'm already in a group and about to start a new Iron Kingdom's campaign or I'd definitely consider it.

After a worldwide coordinated terrorist attack against the United States, Russian Confederation, and their allies, the federal and state governments in the United States collapse in the chaos that followed. Out of the ashes, the corporations take control and form the Corporate States of America. Each mega-corp controls a vast territory of land, people, and manufacturing facilities within their borders. Nine mega-corps control the government, land, and people of the former United States. They rule their corporate states for one hundred forty-seven years with an iron fist. A new era dawns when from the shadows, a small group of people began to throw off the shackles of domination using the rallying cries that spark off a revolution four hundred years ago.

The world of Inceptum Terminus is a dark, brooding world that explores many themes ranging from morality and ethics to the role of entertainment. Inceptum Terminus combines several genres into a cohesive whole in order to tell the story. These genres are post apocalypse, westerns, biopunk, cyberpunk, superheroes, and science fiction. At the center of all this is the characters whose every action and decision impacts the world around them.

Delays and Upcoming Things

by Richard Littles on 08-28-2010 at 06:22 PM
In case you haven't heard, Inceptum Terminus: Chronicles of the New Confederation setting book has been delayed until next summer for publication. The delay has forced me to stop working on support for the game setting like the Mass Combat Rules supplement. I'm still eager to test out my ideas for mass combat powered by Hero System. The early test games were very positive since Hero System can handle miniature wargaming just fine and better than some of the rule systems I've played in the past.

Howdy folks,

I was just sent the finalized version of the Inceptum Terminus: Chronicles of the New Confederation logo. I think it turned out really well and captured the feel of the setting perfectly. Feel free to leave comments.

Inceptum Terminus Kingdom and Mass Combat Supplement News

by Richard Littles on 04-14-2010 at 06:22 AM
Heyas folks,

Work has been coming along for the next book in the Inceptum Terminus product line. The next book will feature the integration and use of the Hero System Kingdom and Mass Combat rules. It won't be a very large book, but it will add in more detail to the Corporate States, units and their histories, and new optional mass combat rules to help simulate modern warfare better.

I received a lot of advice from a few friends that had served in the military on

Inceptum Terminus Kingdom and Mass Combat Supplement

by Richard Littles on 03-24-2010 at 08:48 AM
Yesterday I spent the entire day writing the outline for the next book in the Inceptum Terminus product line. The goal of the book is to add my and my co-owner's love of wargames into our role playing setting. I'm quite pleased with the results of the outline.

Computer Problems

by Richard Littles on 01-13-2010 at 05:19 AM
In mid-December my main desktop decides that the motherboard is going to fail. I sent it back for replacement and I sent back the cpu as well. Due to a mix up I didn't get the cpu until the day before yesterday and put the system together. I'm excited because I can stop using the old Compaq desktop and hit the power switch. The lights and fans come on for a split second then powers off. Great another dead motherboard, so I had to send it back and wait for another replacement.

The downside
