It is more not knowing what I do need, which terms give what, and which formulas to use to get them. One of the bits of data I didn't have is the distance hail would travel, if I were doing that example, and how long it takes to do so - because of the varying densities of different weights, the...

I've been all over the net and have a lot of calculators and such bookmarked and they're useful to various extents. Never hurts to have another one, thanks Nijineko. =) I have someone in chat that has been helping teach me about the physics stuff too so that's been quite helpful.

Alan, I think your topic and pursuing comments and argument are somewhat tenuous due to some of what you say being matters of terminology and semantics, essentially technicalities. Obviously the two words have SOME difference, or they wouldn't be different words; however, the interrelation and...

Hello, I am looking for some info from anyone more well versed in this type of math and physics question. I know you cannot directly convert pressure and force from one to the other without extra information, but I have a set of values below and I'd like to get some info on what to do with it and...

I never used variant rules specifically for the d20 system, but the probability obviously changes when you use multiple dice instead of a single. Each face of a d20 has the exact same 5% chance of occurring, making percentile distribution perfect by-five increments, while summed dice, because there...

I think that is probably the telling point and possibly the most important one. A hobby or entertainment without competition doesn't require rules because it is either a completely collaborative experience, such as acting, or simply "play", like freeform "making stuff up" - mutual storytelling. ...

RPGs are games in the grand sense of the word, in that they are imaginative and social play, which happen to lead to learning better interaction with others. In the more specific connotation of the word "game", RPGs still hold up as quite valid examples of games, the only somewhat dubious...

At this point in time I am not available most evenings because I am currently in several online games... I am open to a Friday or Sunday evening game or any weekday mid-day game... considering running a f2f game soon on either the Friday or Sunday evening slot, although running another 3.5 atm isn't the top of my list, especially since I'm about to run AFMBE online Saturday evenings.
About Me
Real Name:
Kaye
Biography:
Let's see... I am currently in: HEX (Hollow Earth Expedition), TME (The Mutant Epoch), Necessary Evil, A HERO system game in a homebrew Renaissance Italy setting (low fantasy), BoL (Barbarians of Lemuria) and a Cortex+ game in a homebrew Duelist Academy setting. Other games I have played are D&D (original, 3.5 and Pathfinder), Cyberpunk 2020, 3:16 Carnage Among the Stars, AFMBE, The One Ring, Villains and Vigilantes, Fantasy Craft, Vampire:Masquerade... possibly a few others that I can't think of at the moment. Needless to say-- I am pretty open to several genres of RPGs. =) Would love to try GURPS, Traveller, possibly RIFTS and really most games with some neat aspect to them are likely something I'd try.
