Farcaster created an article Chat Room: Exploding Dice in Home
Now that we've settled in with the new chat room software and I've finally managed to get the dice roller stable, I've started working on expanding the dice rolling functions beyond the mundane roll-x-die-y-times. The first and most requested feature was for exploding dice. And what red blooded...

I think there might be a link the chat client for a user focused manual, but I can't access it at the moment. Damned firewalls at work. I noticed some oddities with this as well and planned to work on it. More accurately, I think it would say d20 (16) + 2 (2). That is accurate, but not...

You only received the "generic" systems because you had not gone into a specific section to upload your file. If you were in the Fantasy section, you'd get the fantasy options + generic. It is already possible to reference a URL, but I may have only enabled that for special guests and...

For now there is not. That isn't a feature they built into it, but there is a way for me to approximate it outside of the flash interface using their API. Basically, you'd reserve a room through P&PG and then it would password protect it under the hood. Not sure.

Just an update. I turned my attention towards getting a new chat software setup for a while, which was involved to get things like dice rollers working, etc. I'm wrapping that up, so I'll be coming back around to the Downloads section soon.

You cannot. It only allows creating rooms from the admin panel or through the API. I may add an external tool that will let you reserve a room, so to speak. But that will be later on. For now though, you'll have to use the pre-generated gaming rooms.

I've looked into a chat software that I think would be good and I can confirm that it supports iOS and Adroid. It also has an option to use HTML5 instead of Flash. The minimal license is $300 though. I've put up a donation box. Hopefully some folks will be interested in helping out to get it.

Much Improved Hero System

by ronpyatt on 10-06-2009 at 10:30 AM
Hero System Fans,

Do you have the Hero System 6th Edition?

I've been reading through the 2 volume set of the latest edition of Hero System, and it really has me psyched about trying out all the new features.

They've made so many changes since my introduction into the 3rd Edition and enough changes from 5th to warrant a 6th edition. These changes include one of the most drastic changes to the system: the removal of derived characteristics, which will irritate

Dawn of World

After reading through Dawn of Worlds, I had to try this game. We picked up drawing pencils, a sheet of 3' by 4' paper, erasers, sharpeners, and tape to hold the paper to the table. There were 5 of us.

The first night we got comfortable with the rules, and began shaping the land. Very cool, if a bit slow going at first. By the end of the 2nd day, we had a detailed map of the world.

In short, the rules tell

The Angelics: stealing more questions

by ronpyatt on 08-10-2009 at 12:28 AM
Wanted for crimes against the state and ready to flee underground, the party knew they could not leave their mission. They had to risk everything to gain access to the base tower in Order of Hermes. With the help of some custom designed stealth technology and a family member on the inside, they managed to slip in and gather a bit of information from the sacred database.

It wasn't long before they tripped some alarm and had to leave, narrowly escaping what would have been an instant

The Angelics: somebody's watching

by ronpyatt on 07-17-2009 at 01:26 AM
Just as the party was about to set aside some time to reverse engineer some valuable software, they encountered an angel with the potential to help them solve a few mysteries. The Order quickly tracked down this new angel friend when this angel tried to make a quick and dirty deal for fast money. They captured and took that angel away.

The party soon realized they were being watched, their captured friend knew too much, and the party was afraid their secret would fall into the hands

The Angelics: earn a little

by ronpyatt on 07-10-2009 at 11:34 PM
Lars, their curious AI, introduced the party to the undermarket denizens, leaving them to fend for themselves in a quest for credit and special software that would render them invisible. Along the way they discovered the deliciously vaporous nature of AI's on the seedy side of the market. A brief encounter with a member of the Order of Hermes answered a critical question about who they would be feeding upon, but this brought them no closer to their quest. Last but not least, a random shooting crippled
