- What are you looking for?:
- I enjoy regularly scheduled games, played with people who enjoy spending time together. It's been so long since I played regularly that I only know one game: DnD4e.
The social aspect of the game is the critical element for me. I'm okay if every game session is one combat encounter after another, but I'll need some time for food and chit-chat before/after the session.
~~~~GM~~~~
For the game I run, we'll be playing in a Points of Light world in which the player characters are the stars of the story. I'll be polling my players for their preferences, but currently plan to create a sandbox environment. After the first couple of sessions, the players will determine the direction of all future activities.
Ideal players will get along with other people, and be willing to develop characters who can work with a group of PCs. No antisocial disruptive primadonnas, please! That said, feel free to violate the Wil Wheaton rule when it comes to NPCs.
~~~~Player~~~~
As a player, I strongly prefer a game world in which the player characters are the stars of the story. I like an ensemble cast, rather than a story with one lead and a whole bunch of backup characters. As long as I'm wishing, I'd wish for intra-party conflict to be the exception, not the norm.
About Me
- Biography:
- Until this last year, I've been out of roleplaying for almost a decade. Then the Penny Arcade guys were in a DnD podcast, and I remembered what I've been missing. I did a demo of DnD4e; I loved it, and subsequently joined a couple of biweekly games.
Now, I've been bitten by the desire to run my own game.
As it's been well over a decade since the last time I refereed a game, I'm planning a three-month D&D 4e trial, running weekly from January through April. After that, we evaluate the game and decide whether to make it a permanent event.
