- What are you looking for?:
- The game I am looking to run is called WARS, and is a d20-based game by Mongoose Publishing that draws upon the setting first provided in the 2004 Decipher trading card game of the same name, and the Grail Quest comic series set to debut later this year.
This story is set in a space-age future where a divided humanity has colonized the entire Solar System, but still has yet to advance beyond the need for violence. On the eve of an impending campaign of invasion, a cosmic rift suddenly tears through the fabric of space and time, hurling a foreign planet and two embattled alien races through into human territory. No remorse. Nowhere to hide. The WARS have begun.
This game is going to require creative improvisation by the players and myself, as the five warring factions (three human forces, plus two alien races) constantly make and break agreements, negotiating alliances of convenience at the drop of a hat. Therefore, the way the story runs will depend largely on whether the group is composed of one faction or several. I am willing to run with either scenario, although I'm up to the challenge of a group whose characters are forced into a grudging peace.
Overall, what I need from the players will be a general knowledge of the d20 system, good roleplaying skills, and a mind geared towards solving problems without combat, but the ability to recognize when a fight is unavoidable. The game itself is obscure, so much so that the only way to acquire the rulebook is by purchas
About Me
- Biography:
- I prefer to play a particular game once every 1 or 2 weeks. I am most familiar with d20, with only limited knowledge of other systems. d20 System games I have played include d20 Modern, some D&D, and plenty of Wizards' Star Wars RPG, both Revised and Saga rulesets. Games outside the d20 System include VtM and Anima.
