Centuries ago, a megalithic temple dedicated to Orcus, the Demon Prince of the Undead, lay on the site that is now Cafeld's graveyard. Eventually, unable to bear with their abominable practices, neighboring tribes attacked the temple and slaughtered its priests. Mindful of the possibility that...

I try to keep the same version of openSUSE on both my laptop and my desktop. It's easier that way. My laptop is slowly falling behind. "The Beast", the desk top and the case. All Scale Trek forum shown.

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a great tool. It beats Photoshop in one very important category, price. And it runs on all OS platforms. I'm having a few issues with the changes made in 2.8 Leaning curves suck.

Derim is indeed a good climber, yes, but climbing checks are derived from Athletics, which is a function of Strength. Derim's ability in this area comes from his strength, his ancestry (+2 to Athletics), and his general training in feats of strength (trained in Athletics). He would be a...

Lightweight? I like medium weight myself. I'm enough of a war gamer to like a bit of crunch in my game. True 20 is way to light for my taste. On the other hand a simulationist combat system takes way too muich time and effort. What do I like? Yes systems. A system that doen't default to...

I introduced a bunch of "crap" magical items to a group once that whined and complained about how useless they were. Fast forward a year, the campaign ran its course and a new DM starts a new campaign. Session three, the biggest whiner starts asking the DM how much a Cauldron of Cooking would...

I had a general idea for a quest inside this adventure, but since I haven't shared it with you yet, if you want to forgo the quest and take your two fifth level spells immediately, you may do so. Let me know what you choose. This choice applies to Yrisz and Konstansz, too. People who don't...

I'd like to join the Adventure Writer's Guild. I may be an inexperienced DM, but I've got enthusiasm and a fertile imagination. I'd like to learn how to better harness those traits to benefit everyone.
  2. Sure....let me come up with a better idea than the one I put up, then.

Hey Ben... I've been thinking about the adventure writers guild and while i see it as a cool opportunity, there's really only a few motivated people up there. I want to keep pushing to see if we can collaborate as a group, but i would like to put forward may a little side effort between just you and I. Basically same thing, we'll both come up with an side trek idea and then we do your first, and collaborate to finish mine after that. I've never worked collaboratively before and i don't want my first experience, which seems like its gonna be a lot of drawn out online exchanges, to sour me to it. You really got this group started, and you seem really motivated in the adventure writing area... sooooo.... interested in collaborating just between you and I? I understand if not... it means yet another thing to put effort into and family always take priority... but let me know if it may be something you want to do.

Entering Elder Daven

by DM_Running_Farland_3.5 on 04-26-2009 at 12:37 PM
After leaving the sheriff behind in the custody of the village priest, the Ely, Rana and company continued on to Elder Daven.

They nearly fell victim to a strangely clean ogre that was plying the "trade" on the road to Elder Daven.

Heinrich managed to sneak up behind him and attempted to hamstring him but failed. When the ogre finally got the chance to go on the offensive, Heinrich found himself with a 50-pound great axe lodged in his left shoulder.
