I am looking for a game where the emphesis is on role playing and staying in character while at the gaming table. I prefer DND 3.5 and have heard good things about Pathfinder. Tried 4.0 and did not care for it but then it was not a well run game so .... would be willing to try it again.

I've been playing RPGs since 1978 and ADND since 1980. I've played a few other RPGs besides DND but I always come back to the gold standard. DND. I like to game once a week with a regular campaign. I've played all of the different base classes and PHB races plus a few others. My favorite character started out as a Commoner and then became a body guard to a nobleman's son while he went out and about the land taking care of things for his father. That was mostly role play with rare combat which was over quickly. Ubar was tough and hit hard. Plus if the combat went on too long, the lord's son might get hurt.
