Rogue here, CEO of Arcanum Syndicate. It has been a couple of years since we jumped onto the map and if I have learned anything at all from this quest is that marketing is one of the most important tools in success. Well, talent is very important too but sometimes the talentless slip into success...

Quick bump, as unfortunately I'm in the market for players since some of mine seem to be less enthusiastic than others, and it's not fair to not game because some people can't make it all the time. Message me and let me know.

It looks like you can get a log of the chat the same as you could before. There's a "See chat history" button. Can we get a list of the full commands anywhere FC? I was looking for them last night and couldn't find any. Also when you roll dice and add any number (like /roll 1d20+2) It...

I approve so far. The nicest chat I've seen on any vBulletin. The only problem I have with it is that I rolled a 5 on a d20 with my first attempt, so I don't think it likes me very much... Also can we not create our own rooms anymore?

I have to agree with Farcaster and say that I don't see the numbers showing a need for a lot more separate forums. That said, I would put in a yes vote to add a tag to each post as to which older edition it is for.

About Me
Biography:
I'm 34 years old, and I like D&D and FF based roleplays, however I like all styles of roleplaying. I play FFXI, usually every day but it's dwindled down a little since joining this site. I'm available for one-on-one rp's if anyone is interested, but please PM me.

I haven't been involved in any group sessions in 5 years and I would really just like to get back into it as regularly as possible. I find that I do learn quickly, and I am VERY rusty on the rules right now, as the last time was with AD&D (yes 2nd edition) but I have yet to find anyone who still plays that edition.

I would appreciate a bit of a refresher and a walkthrough if possible, and I also want to have fun while learning more about the game.

Gaming Pet Peeves - Part One - Attendance

by Ashene on 05-30-2010 at 06:26 PM
Well I'm not quite sure how to actually organize my thoughts on this, however I've got a few pet peeves about role playing that I find very irritating...caused by both the GM and the other players, or player characters.

First issue is attendance. I find that attendance is good the first few sessions, where you've established your character, found how you're going to play your character, you come across certain life or death situations or the game sessions end up being simply role-playing

"Gamer Chicks" and Romance in RPG's.

by Ashene on 02-09-2010 at 10:10 PM
Well, this is a random rant I don't know many of you will want to read but I just have to get it off of my chest.

This has to do with the general subject of romance in role playing. Most of the role playing I've done has had a bit of romance in it and some innocent flirting which is fine. Though it never was the primary focus, it gave an interesting twist to the plot and me being a romantic, I had a blast with it.

There have been games where there has been a whorish type

"Gamer Chicks" - The Squeaquel

by Ashene on 02-03-2010 at 11:38 PM
LOL Just kind of "borrowed" the title from Alvin and the Chipmunks' new movie title...I really have no desire to go see it. Loved the cartoon though.

I find that even though I try to bring romance and fun into an rp, as a balance to the intense hack and slash happening, and no matter how much my characters attempt negotiations with NPC's, they tend to be ignored, by the players or even the GM.

The dice-rolling system in the chat room has not been kind to me...and

"Gamer Chicks" - Take Two!

by Ashene on 01-23-2010 at 08:33 PM
Someone who commented on my last entry the typical stereotypical role-player: acne-ridden teenager, maintaining the opinion that as a "gamer chick" I was seen as something gamers are not. It would be seen as me "getting in bed with those who are the stereotype."

Is it justified that gamers have to be acne-ridden teenagers or middle-aged men who still live in their mother's basements and play WoW or D&D all day? Why can't a somewhat successful woman or girl

"Gamer Chicks"

by Ashene on 01-23-2010 at 01:24 AM
I've never blogged...ever...on any site whatsoever, so why now? I just wanted to know what everyone thinks about this topic.

I mean, what's so special about "Gamer Chicks" or female gamers? I am one myself, and honestly it's not that big a deal is it? I have met several women gamers and they play many more MMORPG's or console games than I ever did in my entire lifetime. Perhaps it's because I like to role play more than ROLL play, that I'm more into the pen and paper aspect
