Wow, some people take things way too seriously. I could never torture my dice like that, imagine how poorly they'd roll afterwards?

Trash it with supplemental material? How can you not like supplemental material?

This makes me want to roll every dice I have with an excel spreadsheet ready to record and find their averages. Which, I guess, means "yes" we believe in diminishing probability? If you have a record of the last 50 rolls of a dice, and are familiar with the results before rolling, and you feel...

Does that actually exist? Well... apparently so. Interesting way to adjust the probability of a roll. But after a few bored moments of staring at d20's I think they're built against that type of thing. The 2 and 8 sides are next to the 20. It might be possible to use Dice Control on a...

Some people have that special dice that most recently rolled a NAT 1, meaning its less likely to roll a 1 again in the future because the odds that it rolls 1 twice are 1/400 right? How true is that, or is it just superstition? This is basically the same as the old "flip a coin three times"...

Simpler. Basically "an armor by any other name would still add +X Defense, so why do we have a bunch of tables listing various armor names and the one point of difference between them when not naming them would work just as well, save page space in print, and be easier to record on a character...

This is the plan. I'd rather not have three separate boxes on a character sheet for Slashing, Bashing, and Piercing defense. I'd rather give armor a Damage Reduction to the one(s) its resistant to and keep it simple. (Same for damage types like Fire / Arcane / Acid etc.)

Like I mentioned in the second post, incorporating specific protections against damage types isn't hard with the proposed rules-lite version, and was of course going to be included either way. Realism is a good place to start, but when it gets in the way of function it can be sacrificed without...

Well that (the specific damage type protection) is still applicable. Generic armor that provides only a +# AR would be the standard, but also available would be armors that provide damage redcution from certain types of attacks. Bashing, Slashing, Fire, Acid, and so on. So you're not missing out on...

Greetings. My name is Garrett. I have a group that plays weekly. Every other weekend, we play a HarnMaster campaign that I'm running. On the alternate weekends, we've been having a board/video game night. Right now, we're taking a few weeks off of both to play 2-3 sessions of Shadowrun 4ed. After that, we will pick back up where we left off in the HarnMaster game every other week. Also, one of our members will be running either BESM d20 or a DND3.5 game.

The group currently consists of 6 regular players.
The group is very easy going, and the games are about a 50/50 split between combat and roleplaying.

The Harn game has been running almost a year now, which is why we're taking a few weeks off to play some SR4 (I just need a break - the Harn game is a lot of work to GM!).

Most of the group is 30's, though I am 22, & a couple of em are older.

If you're interested, it would be great for you come check out the group. The game is in Marietta near Shallowford & Trickum.
    Cheers!

What are you looking for?:
I'm looking for a group mostly into D&D, I haven't played too much else. I enjoy deep, intriguing storylines in campaigns as well as hack & slash &/or tactical combat; But would like to have a good mix of both with a DM who knows what he's doing & some good, seasoned role-players.

In a nutshell; I would really like to find a group in either AD&D or D&D (3.5) with a stable schedule & a refreshing, new atmosphere with like-minded individuals.
About Me
Biography:
Ok, well, for starters; I have immersed myself in Dungeons & Dragons for roughly 5 years now with my local group of friends & Co-workers. I started out playing AD&D 2nd edition, Being a player mostly, but dabbling in Dungeon Mastering for a little while with a lot of praise & many successful quest under my belt. Even though I can DM if needed, I have the heart of a player & enjoy it just a little more.

After playing AD&D for 3 and a half years, our group started to slowly begin to play D&D 3.5 edition. It was a weird transition at first, but I found that my group & myself were growing fond of 3.5 so we continued to play it for the last year or so. Sadly, never really looked back to AD&D after that, but I wouldn't mind playing again.

Over time I took the place of DM & ran many Campaigns in my spare time whenever I wasn't busy with work or other issues but, eventually we just stopped playing all together & I would really like to change that So...I guess that's why I here.
