Nice post, Mythus. I enjoyed reading this. I felt that I got more info and enjoyment out of the comment section tho. I will be the first to admit, almost everyone who finds a system they truly enjoy, becomes a fanboy for that particular system, at least to some extent. Which is why i tossed...

One more little tidbit, is that many in person local RPG/tabletop gaming groups setup a Facebook Group. Log-in to Facebook, flit left to your favorites list ( if on a mobile ) , and enter into the search line something along the lines of " Tampa Area Role Playing...

:sorry: Sorry About the "Book" , I got excited and over enthusiastic... :typing: I look at it as OD&D, Chain-mail, and first edition are very basic, almost simplistic. And if Simplistic and rules light is the way you would like to start, i would recommend Basic Fantasy Role-Playing game which...

As the rule stated, it looks like it could be infinite. However, it may be broken or unintended that way, sort of like Mighty Cleave etc. With mighty cleave, if you cleave, and your enemy dies, you can hit the next enemy automatically.. as long as they keep dying, you keep getting extra attacks...

It looks as in my absence, i need to update the flyer.... Many many newcomers have more than doubled the membership roster since then. If anyone has any input as to additional info to add, please post here, and i will begin reformatting the flyer to updated status :)

For me, as i had started my TT RPG experiences with D&D 1st ed, then hardcore Advanced 2nd ed, 3.5 was awesome. Blew the options wide open, and allowed eons of fun to be had! Now that isn't to say it was problem free, nor is Pathfinder. However, I looked at Pathfinder, and was wowed at the input...

You would almost have to make some specific encounter tables that are swappable. For instance, using a generic encounter table filled with tons of different random monsters may not work well.. Say you are exploring a Duergar mine or such, it wouldn't really work out if your random generator pulled...

That is certainly clarified. XD I do like Psionics in 3.5. I never really looked them over in 4e, though I know the Monk was converted to a Psionic based class, which I'm actually ok with. It's a better excuse to give them slightly supernatural powers than "Spiritual Enlightenment" so I'm all...

I used to do ESP tests to myself as a kid all the time. It started to bother my teachers when I'd pretend not to know the answers to problems, but rather be reading their minds to tell them what it was. XD I disagree about D&D doing psionics well. I think they could have been handled much better...

by DragonPrince on 08-26-2009 at 04:47 PM

D&D Old to New

by DragonPrince on 02-21-2009 at 11:44 AM
I have been playin D&D since the mid 80's, have DM'd most of my time and like to play as well. I have many books from 1st ED to 3.0 but don't see spending more money without havin a chance to play. I usually created my own worlds and can adapt to almost all play. I prefer to role-play wirh some fighting. I have not done much in the fact of On-line or PbP...these are new to me.
