What are you looking for?:

I'll be honest: I love rolling dice. That being said, I also love a good storyline and exploring new worlds. I'm not a great "role" player in the sense that I don't particularly enjoy talking "in-character," but I do enjoy making character backgrounds that fit into whatever imaginary world he/she lives in. Also, I like for my characters to have some motivation for adventuring. I'm just not comfortable acting it all out.

What do I look for in a group? Above all, I want to feel comfortable around them as people. Humor is important. My gaming time is limited, so finding that balance between general socializing and playing is important. Rules are important and story is important - I hate to see either suffer.

Biography:

Mid 30's, married with a relatively large family (5 kids). Started playing in the early 80s (started with the red box) as the default DM - I was the only one with the game for a number of years. I stuck with basic D&D for a long time and then stopped playing for awhile (missed most of 2nd ed), played briefly 3.0/3.5, and dabbled a bit in 4E.

Also tried my hand at a bunch of other RPGs (well known and obscure) over the years, more or less unsuccessfully. Other than an occasional Worldwide Game Day event, I haven't really played much at all lately. (Occasionally with my kids, but interest waxes and wanes...)
