Well, the rum thing is easy... I can put three ounces in a glass with a couple of ice cubes and sip on it for four or five hours. And it's YUMMY! That's an interesting twist with using the caster as the "translation tool" for the verse - and it makes sense. I may have to incorporate that......

Here's a general Fantasy RPG question... Imagine, if you will, a spell that allows insta-translation of spoken word (for D&D folk: Tongues). Do spells like these translate literally, or do they allow for "fudge factor" for meanings and inflection? Should it make allowances for thinks like the...

In my campaign, I add historical realism... for festivals and stuff, if you weren't the wife of a noble, odds are that you were prostituting yourself to make extra money... and this went down to young teen daughters. For fantasy campaigns, depending on where you are located in my campaign world,...

    1) The GM (or player who created said puzzle) will select a trait that embodies the difficulty of the puzzle and layer in references to said trait and supporting references into the puzzle's description for noetic weight. Jpat reviews his character's traits and picks the one he feels will most...

the conflict resolution mechanic? well, it is a tertiary mechanic in order to provide a method of resolving deadlocks and ties to the primary method, noetic combat. i have been recently contemplating making it a quaternary mechanic so as to provide a greater focus on the purposed intent of the...

  1. How did the alignment Lawful Good end up being the choice when reading the description? as per your response to my thread.
  2. Yes, time marches forward despite my objections. I am mostly back ... a dream to some, but a nightmare to others. Catch ya around.

Well Met,
I DM two groups in Green bay .
A few notes about our games:
1) We use the 3.5 Dungeons and Dragons rules to the best of our ability
2) Most WOTC products are acceptable for use. Some material from other gaming companies may be allowed on a case by case basis. Currently, psionics are not allowed.
3) Wed. and Sun. are two different groups with all different members. I tend to use the same adventures for each with slight adjustments to individualize and compensate for the differences. They can be quite different, but do sometimes share story-lines.
4) Dress up should be reserved for LARP and Halloween, so we don't dress up or go to extremes.
5) Sunday usually plays about 3:00pm to 9:00pm.
6) We play at players homes who are willing to accommodate.
7) I have been playing since 1979 when I was young. I started DMing seriously shortly after 2nd edition came out. I still like to play when I can. I have played every edition of D&D and many other games too numerous to mention. When DMing I allow most things from WOTC products and am a pretty easy going impartial refree type. While I have played many other games, I always end up back at D&D.
8) We play in an evolving home-brew world where creativity is encouraged. Its a relatively normal world where most things are possible. The best part is it is not overwritten like some settings and doesn't cost a thing.
9) Most of my players are more roll player than role player. From time to time there is some good role play
