What are you looking for?
I prefer games that try to establish a sense of realism and a 'science' to the system. I don't literally mean 'science' in the scholastic sense, but takes some common sense and analysis to the possible, plausible, and impossible given the particular circumstances. I don't have a problem with combat, but I like there to be realistic cause and effect, with realistic actions and reactions factored into the consequences of being involved in potential combat.

Combat for the most part shouldn't be taken as lightly as it often is, the way I see it, at least. I'm not a fan of Hack and Slash, though yet, I do enjoy being involved in tactical combat and using teamwork to overcome a dangerous and hostile enemy. However, if it feels like Hack, Slash, Spellcasting, Special Power, Heal and Repeat, if necessary/desired; I lose interest. When there is a real danger of losing a character from death and the combat is unforgivingly lethal, players tend to think twice about running headlong into battle, and stop to think, talk, and strategise (and/or look for alternatives), which I think brings back real 'Role'playing, versus the 'Roll'playing that occurs otherwise.
