- I like a good mix of hack and slash and roleplaying, I think no game is complete without both; it really is dependent on the system. I would LOVE to find a Call of Cthulhu game, because I haven't had a good group for that in over 6 years (old CoC, preferably, i like the d100 system). I can GM or be a player, but I very much prefer the player role. Most of my games recently I've been DM/GMing, and I'm a little tired of it. I'd also very much like to try L5R. I also enjoy Shadowrun, though usually less frequently than the others (I end up having to run it and that gets old for me quickly; if I'm playing a game, I almost never tire of it).
UPDATE:
Specifics of my schedule: I have a star wars game every Monday evening and a periodic VTM game on an indeterminate night each week. Message me for specifics on which they fall on.
About Me
- Biography:
- I started out a long while ago back in Starwars D6, since then I've done AD&D, D&D 3.0, 3.5. In high school I branched out into Vampire and Werewolf with a little Changling and Mage. Near the end of High school we played Shadowrun (SR3) and Call of Cthulhu (d100 and d20; i vastly prefer d100, but i'll play either). I also did some greyhawk and Living Force (and LFOnline) for a while, but I found that most of the RPGA was too closed circle and munchkin oriented. A lot of character concepts were discarded as "inefficient" or "weaker" and I think they kind of missed the point of "roleplaying"; not "stamping in the face of everything you come across". I've done a few larps, and I enjoyed them, though I've heard most LARP groups get to be too much Drama and not enough game politics (most speaking in terms of vampire or changeling) and dissolve into that after a while. Back in high school I played weekly or bi and even tri-weekly at times, now I haven't actually had a good session in nearly a year. (There have been a few two hour ones, but I really don't count those; my opinion a good session should be 6 - 8 hours). I'm really hoping to find a group that not only enjoys gaming often and reliably, but also various games. Though, truth be told the biggest problem I've had since coming to DFW is getting a group to stay together; I've got easily 50 different folders for campaigns that have been discarded over the past 5 years of trying to game with roommates. At this point I want a good stable group that is fun to game with, and a low level of dramatics (extra-game dramatics that is; I'm definitely up for drama IN game, just not out of). I'd also like to see some other systems and games at some point; I have a nice core base, and I've played a large section of the mainstream, but I know there's more than that out there.
