What are you looking for?:

Less hack and slash; more role play. Probably prefer fantasy settings and soft-edged horror. I love Poe and Lovecraft and PG-13-Pop-Culture Horror, like Buffy and Munchkin Cthulu, but the line between thrill and hair-standing-on-end-persistent-nightmare-inducing is thread-thin for me and comes up unexpectedly (my problem not anyone elses). Also, I don't want to be part of any game that involves tormenting other characters -- torture, rape, that sort of thing. I will drop a game like that before the next die hits the table. So folks should know not to include me in a game like that. That's probably enough to know.

About Me

Biography:

I'm new -- like I imagine lots of folks are when they first join this site -- and one reason I want to play some games is to be able to GM some games for kids in my classes. However, I'm also a writer, so the storytelling aspect of RPG games is appealing to me. Finally, I'm an avid board and card gamer, and my kids and I love the Munchkin series (my kids more than me because the real interaction with the game is so light in my opinion and my kids range from 9 to 17, so one man's game-appropriate cutthroat behavior is another man's traumatic devastation). Because we enjoy gaming, I'd like to see how well our current interests flow into RPG.
