Itís the year 3041 and a strange peace has settled over the Inner Sphere. The War of 3039 is over with the Federated Commonwealth gaining little from the Draconis Combine, aside from both sides agreeing to leave the fighting to the next generation. Returning to their homeworld of Tamar, the...

What's the point, anyhow? Yes, I know...adventurers don't want to be tied down, they want to wander freely, explore new and exciting places, and rescue beautiful monsters from ravening princesses! Who the hell wants to help build a stupid town? Well, there are actually several potential...

Harn: What you should know before creating a character Note: Certain alterations have been made to the setting to fit within the D&D model. I will simply describe things as they are...which is all the characters would know and be concerned about. The Isle of Harn Harn is a large...

From a broadsheet posted throughout the kingdom of Kaldor in the winter of 719 Tuzyn Reckoning: HEAR YE, HEAR YE! Let it be known that persons of various and needful skills and good character are being sought for an expedition to establish a new outpost in the name of King Miginath, to the...

What are you looking for?:
I like a group who can be more creative than just hacking & slashing, I like when players surprise the GM. I like running 1 character of my own in a group, although I've handled as many as 4 at a time when I first played 20 years ago. I don't remember what "world" I played in (not surprising since it was so long ago since I played heavily). I'd like to play once a week. I have a daughter who visits every other weekend. I like occasional deviation from game rules if its agreed by all that the change makes the game work better for us all. I'm very easy to get along with, but I'll speak up if I really don't like something.

I'm also willing to learn other game systems, if for variety than nothing else. I played some ShadowRun recently & enjoyed it.
About Me
Biography:
I've been playing 4e now for a couple of years & I really like it, its very different from what I used to play, but in a good way. I like the fleshing out of the characters.

I played for a few years as a teenager in the mid-late 80's, standard D&D. My group went their separate ways to college & I've only gotten back into it a couple years ago. I've read a few Dragonlance books as an adult, and I really like Flint Fireforge & Tasslehoff Burrfoot. And for what it matters, if I'm going to be gaming at someone else's house...I'm very allergic to smoke & cats, so if you have a cat or smoke heavily, I probably can't be there! :-(

Creativity + Adulthood = Frustation

by ChaunceyK on 04-13-2009 at 10:36 AM
I'm very frustrated lately. I have a whole heap of creativity waiting to be unleashed, and nowhere to unleash it. But I'm getting a little ahead of myself. Let me start from the beginning.

I'm 36yo, married, 1 daughter & 2 dogs. I'm a homebody, and happily so. When I'm not working or spending time with my family, I'm online being an internet junkie. Can't get enough of it.

My wife, however, is a social butterfly. She goes out with her sister, with her friends,
