What are you looking for?
As a player I look for a group whose members like to socialize beyond gaming and reveal/share common interests. I like things to be relaxed and fun at the game table, but with effort made to sustain atmosphere in the game.

As a GM I tend to offer scenario's/stories that are meaningful within the game world: The player actions are felt by the world and what happens in the world affects them. While I like mystery, I also believe in volunteering information that I feel a character would be aware of. I try to set up and run scenarios like episodes in an drama/action TV series. There ought to be conflict of some kind during each session. Role-playing is fine, but it's boring without conflict. Conflict could range from dramatic tension to a brutal splatterfest, but it needs to be there or else the players don't actually do anything. I find sitting around talking, but not doing, to be uninteresting. Again, I look to TV series as an example. There you will find no episode that fails to engage the audience in some way. Every element of a successful episode serves the plot, advances the story, etc. Nothing is wasted, though it may not be as effective as the writers and producers hope. Anyway, that's my philosophy, whatever my real ability as a GM.
About Me
Biography
My interests are diverse. I lift weights, run and am something of a health nut. I'm married with three children ranging from 4-13 in age.

I've been playing and running RPGs for a long time and prefer groups where the GM 'hat' is commonly passed around between scenarios.

Some RPGs I've played (in order): Tunnels & Trolls (T&T), D&D, AD&D, Villains & Vigilantes (V&V), Champions, Call of Cthulhu, Shadowrun, Legend of the Five Rings (L5R), Ars Magica, D&D 3.0/3.5, Basic Roleplaying (BRP). There have been others along with numerous board and card games. Of them all I like Shadowrun and L5R equally well with BRP a close third. I have fond memories of V&V and Champions as well. I'd also love to see Ars Magica applied to something like Middle Earth, Birthright, and so on.
