I'd be interested in meeting you and possibly joining a game. I'm actually living in Milwaukee, WI right now, but will be moving down to KC in the late summer or the fall, as my wife will be attending graduate school at KU Med. I've added a bit more to my bio page, and from reading yours, I think we might get along quite well. I'll keep you informed when I actually make the move to KC.

What are you looking for?:
As a Player: I prefure action blended with Roleplay.
* As a DM - I take my Playing Prefrence (above) and mix it into the Challenges of the Games that I run. My games adjust to the Players that are in it: if everyone is heavy on the Combat: Dungeon Crawls. If everyone is heavy on the Roleplay: City Sprawls. I tend to do my best to keep about a 50-50 ratio, but what the Players have thier Characters do really does determine what happens in the Game. This means that even the Dungeon Crawls will have RP encounters; as well as there being threats that appear in the City Sprawls that might require Combat. It all depends on what the Players have their Characters try: and whether or not they succeed. ALL Skills are useful and important: I now have new Rules for Diplomacy.

- I like to have players that understand the rules enough that the game can runs smoothly and with very few interuptions for questions about how to apply the rule to the game. However, this is not to say that I cannot teach people how to play, but if I am doing so, it is best if almost all the players are also just starting to learn the Game: a lot of my experienced players also enjoy helping new players learn. With enough practice, the newest players will have no problem sitting down with the pros at the gaming table. - A Good candidate knows how to balence Character Concept (Chewy) with Game Mechanics (Crunch). In other words, they know how to blend "Powergaming" with "Good Roleplay."
About Me
I have been playing and running games since 1981.
- mostly D&D: Of every Edition. I'm still learning 4e, though.

However, over the years I have expanded to a wider range of games, including but not limited to: RIFTs, Shadowrun, Earthdawn, CJ Corella's Witchcraft, and related Unisystem games: All Flesh Must Be Eaten, and Terra Primal.

My least favorite system is White Wolf's World of Darkness series, mostly because the overall system is not balenced. Each "book" (Werewolves, Vampires, etc) is considered a seperate source, and there are few related abilities, and no means to balence the system so that all the books can be used, without sitting down and converting everything personally. This is not to say that I won't play (or even GM) this RPG, just that it causes me headaches: I like everything in the Game Mechanics to be as balenced as possible: No game system is perfect.

Alignment: Good and Evil (and even Chaos and Law) are not always simple to figure out. In otherwords, there are almost no "always Evil" creatures in my game world: There can be good Kobolds and even Chromatic Dragons. There can be evil Gnomes and Metalic Dragons. The possibilities are (almost) endless.

Exceptions to this rule are specific Outsiders: Celestials (Good), Devils (LE), Demons (CE), Slaads (CE).

What others might find to be the most annoying about me:
I have the heart of a Gnome ("I'm a *monster* - rawr!")
[A reference to the 4e Introduction Interview: Tiefling and Gnome: Search it on]
where I am constantly on the move and tinkering with things.
I love to experiment with new ideas, and take old ideas and reforge them into newer ideas.

Underestimate No One.
