It’s a casual game, and just as we were forming up and found our 4th, one of our original players bailed due to schedule issues, so we are back down to 3. The DM is running some homebrew stuff with synergy to the pre-built world in the DM guide. Once we have four regulars, he’s going to transition us to running Keep on the Shadowfell, the pre-built dungeon from 1-3. Here’s a summary of our game:

1.) It’s pretty casual. A lot of joking around, watching youtube joke videos in the background, and sangria consumption.

2.) Our DM is a first timer, but he is putting a TON of time into it and has a ridiculous amount of RPG and creative experience. So he still has a lot to learn but so far it’s been really good. He’s also a very mellow guy, one of my fav DMs ever. He’s also my roommate. :)

3.) Two of the players are super hardcore munchkins who are trying to restrain their power-gaming lust. That would be me, and one of my best friends.

4.) The third player is a total noob who is still getting used to the rules, and plays pretty slowly. He’ll get better in time though, he is very smart about playing WoW, he just needs to figure out D&D.

5.) It’s a low-RP game focusing on fun and challenging encounters, but we ARE developing a pretty sweet world with some options about where to go and what to do, rather than just point A to point B. I’m trying to do a little bit of RP’ing for the first time, but it’s mostly meta-RP…if you read Order of the Sti
