I like players who have a good sense of humor and enjoy playing their characters in fun and creative ways. I like playing games where thinking and creativity influence the plot just as much if not moreso than combat. I like to run my own games in much the same way- plenty of action and adventure but a good balance between combat and problem-solving & mystery.

I love the Savage Worlds system for running games. Nothing else comes close to ease of play and the possibilities are limitless. I'm also a big fan of the Warhammer Fantasy RPG system but haven't yet had the opportunity to run a game in that format.
