I am looking for a group of mature players age 18+. I enjoy DM/Storytellers who do not tailor their gaming adventure around defeating players; instead, they create their adventures in order to tell an intriguing story regardless of what classes may be in the party. Mercy is not needed to be expressed thoroughly, I am capable of coping with the loss of a personally significant character, although malicious intent from a DM/ST's perspective is something that I personally do not enjoy. Occasionally I have found myself in gaming groups where a 5-6 hour session contained 90-100% Roleplaying; while I do see this as a great change of pace and one that I personally enjoy, I do not like crawling speed games as I will typically be able to game once a week at best.
I have extensive experience in D&D 3.0/3.5 mixed with a gaming group of 4-5 years and have an expressed interest in the World of Darkness series (both old and new) although I lack experience in these systems. If given the choice, I prefer 3.0/3.5 to 4th Edition variants, but I am not hostile towards new systems so long as everyone is having a good time.
I am looking for a group that is capable of containing my exuberant personality, brainstorming, and is understanding of all players' personal life demands and interests. I am very snarky, to say the least and I would require a group which can keep up or tell me when to shut up without causing any friction in the group.
I am 27 years old, male, originally from Kentucky, USA. I was first introduced to tabletop gaming through the old World of Darkness series pre-Gehenna/Time of Thin Blood. During this time I was only able to obtain a gaming group for one session, but it compelled me to read the lore and books associated with WoD. However, as anyone who sees all of the pre-revision books can probably say, without playing there was a myriad of questions about the gaming system that emerged.
My next introduction to gaming was my freshman year as an undergraduate. I was brought fully into the gaming fold while a pledge in my fraternity by several brothers and their friends. 3.0/3.5 was my first true roleplaying system that I was able to immerse myself into and I have played with this group (and splinter groups) long and short campaigns ranging from making a character for a 8 hour long game or a 8 month one. The frequency of sessions in my gaming career has included daily summer (including attempts at 24-hour marathons), weekly, and even monthly sessions.
The entirety of my gaming group has now graduated or moved away and as I find myself moving to a new area, I seek like-minded gamers for fun and relaxation amongst my surely stressful schedule.
