I'll keep you posted, falinxelote. Rather, I'll keep this thread posted. I have another interested party... 4. If a guy taps out or skips someone else's game (SEG), he must wait at least two sessions to play his game again. Change to? 4. . . . he must play two SEGs before his game...

Not the MessySoft kind. Real solid physical windows with glass in them. Last Saturday we at long last got rid of the 90 year old windows a in this 90 year old house. The change is amazing. No rattles, hardly any road noise, and best of all no drafts. This comes courtesy of my wife wining...

I use GIMP I have no idea what you are doing. My artifact document is 1.8 meg in odf and loaded with graphics. I created it in Open Office and is 3.4 meg as an .odt document. What level of compression are you using? I set PNG to "9" Even my big world maps 5400x3300 the most complex does not...

I'm itching to run another Skyrim game on my ever-evolving rule set. And what better setting for flying reindeer? Or mischievous elves? What I really need to hash out though, is a way to make the game a dungeon-crawl competition. Multiple players join, but the PC that survives the longest...

Do you have a finished or in-process RPG, and need some playtesters? Is it one that can be played online? Are you willing to playtest someone else's game to earn your playtesters? A homebrewer just posted a thread asking people to playtest his game, and it occurred to me: why can't you buy...

I just finished the first draft of the 1.3 physical conflict section, and I'm excited. Why excited? Well I had the new rules in mind, and I was pondering the age-old question: what does a GM do when his draugr get charged by PCs? And this caused me to explore the limits of the system. The...

I'm looking for a table of contents thing. What is the layout of the book., Wikis can be a finicky beast to deal with. They have they own formatting styles and are not flexible. I've used HTML tricks to force some things, but fighting it is more work than it is worth in the end,. How did...

Yes! I think this sort of system would work great for chases. It replaces "was my roll good enough to catch him?" with "okay, my progress indicates I've almost got him!" I just spotted something in Green Ronin's Song of Ice and Fire Roleplay, and thought it looked like a good idea. So here's...

Recently I've been playing The Strange with a reasonably stable group. Yesterday I had an idea for a space-opera style recursion (parallel world for the rest of the gaming world), and having nobody else to tell I'm telling you. Don't you feel special? The problem with wedging an entire galaxy,...

The roll many pick one is an Iron Claw mechanic. You skill/ability is based on the dice and type you get to roll from d4 to d12 and the number of dices, some times of mixed types.

Progress just got remodeled. It's an abstract way for the GM to measure goal completion. Here's an example: 3 PCs are trying to sew enough tassled uniforms to thoroughly confuse a gang of banditos when it arrives in the village. The GM sets the PC's max progress at 60, and bandito max...

Alright, maybe that's not the best choice for a name, but with holidays coming up some people are going to have more time for a good, old fashioned, online game! December 13 or 20th? Who's in?

I finished Skyrim. Twice. And I want to play Dragon's Dogma because it got a lot of good reviews and has nice graphics... But while I play DD I'm constantly saying to myself, "wow, this part of the game was way better in Skyrim." Anyone have this problem?

Roll X choose 1 sounds like a very nice simplifying step. You could simplify those task types further by making one standard action, and anything more complicated is just a combination of multiple actions.

The alternative is the dread research dump. "I've suffered for my art and now it's your turn". Sometimes we must be satisfied with knowing outselves. That is one of the reasons I post stuff here. To share what the players wilkl never seen. I also have your issue. I have been requested...

This game works on an action-by-action basis, so you don't have to wait for your turn if you don't want to. However, characters waiting for their turn can get better results, and this careful action planning just got redesigned: https://modos-rpg.obsidianportal.com/adventure-log

tesral replied to a thread [DM / Player Tools] It's the Law in Campaign Resources
Sumptuary laws refer to restrictions on consumption. Restricting purple and ermine to the King, not allowing non nobles to wear silk clothing or gold in their clothing. The purpose was to make sure you could judge someone's class by their clothing. Very much tied into the idea that "clothes...

Inspired by another thread on skill difficulty: I'm beginning the conflict chapter remodel. Up for careful rephrasing: the take half rule. This game uses opposing d20 rolls to determine contests, with the higher result finding more success. The take half rule states that anytime a die...

I purchased a book recently that adds rules for ships and mass combat to RuneQuest. I have read through it once and it looks to make mass combat somewhat easier to run. I'm going to have to read through it again and play through a couple of test mass combats before I actually use it in my Magic...

Hmm sumptuary laws. I should go back through and include that category. In the case of the Eyrian Empire they are specifically forbidden. Nobility is identified by its actions, never its clothing. In places like the Domains and Anorian sumptuary law is rife.

Another possibility is pure average. When this 1000 fights that 1000 what is the average damage done by each side? This does tend to devolve into a bloody fight of attrition. One can modify it with morale the side with better morale gets an advantage. Be that fighting on home turf, a...

What are you looking for?:
I'm not currently looking for a group, as I found a great bunch of players through pen and paper. However, what I look for in a group are people who are laid back and just have fun with the game, some kind of role playing, and a DM who isn't so hard core and lets his/her players progress through their story instead of forcing them along it.
About Me
Biography:
I am currently playing in a D&D and Star wars Campaign that is on a rotating schedule. I use paper and pen to keep in touch with group members and as a way to find other players who might be a good match for our group.
