With a little practice, a laptop can save you time and table space. Dice rollers, maps, spreadsheets for combat - all at your fingertips. Best part: mood music.

I use a combination of digital and print methods to organize my campaign. I have a notebook, 3 ring binder, don't remember the size, but it is at maximum capacity, and I really need to get a bigger one! That's where I keep important information about the campaign that will probably not change,...

Most forums have a delete user function built in. I've never used it, but according to the warning that is in that section of the control panel on the forum I run, it's a final option and will remove unread private message sent by that user to other users as well.

4-month update: well, lots of the facts are out now. I have to say, the similarities between 5E and my homebrew (was an open design process) are a little creepy. But 5E has a shining point: it looks to be 3E minus the large bonuses. AND 5E has invested in character backgrounds, all but forcing...

So, the "paths" from 4E are back? I hope they did a lot of in-house playtesting, because I'm not really seeing choice points; I'm seeing many, many classes.

Some reflections on my homebrew here: In a melee, or close combat amongst several combatants, you generally have two choices: try to kill the guy next to you, or prevent yourself from being killed. Secondary choices are to protect your buddy from getting killed, or assist your buddy in killing...

Game's full as of this post. I highly encourage interested persons to swing by anyway and watch. If there's a seat open, you could still get in. Also, I added a dice-rolling note to the Chatroom Conventions post.

This is a question for modern-genre players who have dabbled in medieval games: What does more damage: a .308 round or a battleaxe? or a more subjective question: How does "damage" from medieval games compare to "damage" from modern games?

Hmmm...let's weigh in: Setting = Campaign World = where a campaign takes place. Campaign = collection of adventures tied together with a theme. Or a Macguffin. Adventure = a roleplaying introduction, climax, and denouement. Session = one sitting of a roleplaying game. QED

To add some rhyme and reason to our game, we'll use the following conventions during the game: Marching order: The party will choose a default formation in which to move. This can be whatever you want; a column is most common in dungeons. You must also determine who stands in each position. ...

Good catch. But I'm sure Malruhn was using the royal "guy." Let's call out some offenders of the mistakes. The latter being (apologies on formatting): 1. Not thinking about basic infrastructure. 2. Not explaining why events are happening now.3) Creating fictional versions of real-life human...

I wish I could say I'm as selfless as Lazarus and Jpat! Besides membership, the only reward I'm looking for is exposure for my RPG. Otherwise, I'm just happy to help myself and others get their gaming fix. P.S. rewards might go a long way for the PCs. Say, in monthly game contests...

When I lived down in Miami, I knew some guys who gamed, but I've been gone from there for over 20 years, so I really don't know any who play down there anymore. 7) Introducing some superpower, like magic or insane tech, without fully accounting for how it would change society. This one is the most abused by Hollywood. Namely, I'm thinking of vampires and werewolves co-existing in the normal world. If I see another vampire in high school...

Final Fantasy d6! http://www.mediafire.com/download/yibrve1l1x65e3i/FFd6_v1.3.pdf Because I love Final Fantasy (well, the first few of them) but I hate learning new rules! And I'm pretty sure that FFd6 uses rows for combat, so there wouldn't be any map-grids necessary. Which is good for the...

These pregens listed will be used in the Con. There's more info on the way for Danica, Farengar, Aia and Mercer. And I'm considering adding some bonus features for Farkas and Aela as well. Farkas's modified Physical is 13, reduced by his heavy armor from 16. This also reduces his physical max...

We could have monthly contests even. Starting the 1st and ending the last day of the month. Then the first week of the next month is used to judge that contest. And on the 1st of the second month starts the new contest!

Well, if P&PG runs a "rules-light" or "rules-heavy" game contest, we might make some strides toward making their definitions concrete. I really see one of P&PG's strengths as the chatroom. So we should probably be running the "Chat-friendly Adventure" contest.

What are you looking for?:
I'm not currently looking for a group, as I found a great bunch of players through pen and paper. However, what I look for in a group are people who are laid back and just have fun with the game, some kind of role playing, and a DM who isn't so hard core and lets his/her players progress through their story instead of forcing them along it.
About Me
Biography:
I am currently playing in a D&D and Star wars Campaign that is on a rotating schedule. I use paper and pen to keep in touch with group members and as a way to find other players who might be a good match for our group.
