Where does robbery come in? You know - whip out a knife and threaten to stick someone unless they hand over the goodies? It isn't officially "theft" by the definitions above, and it might be under some others, I'm just curious.
I agree with that - "sandbox" scenarios and campaigns can be VERY well written...
Something a published writer with whom I am friends just suggested was to consider WHY when writing. Also, if it isn't germane to the plot/idea, don't put it in. Nobody cares if the hero likes the smell of oleander...
I introduced a bunch of "crap" magical items to a group once that whined and complained about how useless they were.
Fast forward a year, the campaign ran its course and a new DM starts a new campaign. Session three, the biggest whiner starts asking the DM how much a Cauldron of Cooking would...

Until around 1990, I had played just about every game on the market, but after getting married, I didn't spend quite as much time. See my favorites for the ones I normally play. Mostly I like to play fantasy and sci-fi, but a good superhero game is fun as well. Will play mini games sometimes and have a Warhammer 40k Necro army at present, that I'm still painting. Also play City of Heroes/Villains and D&D Online.
