What are you looking for?
Looking for a mix of action, roleplaying, mystery, exploration, intrigue and variety with good plots and a rich world to adventure in. The most important thing is that the group be mature, laid back and not into arguing or abusing each other, in game or out of game. Not interested in total maximizers or munchkins -- strong characters are cool, but it can get a little ridiculous if the maximizers get out of hand. Most important: have fun!
About Me
Biography
Been playing for 30 years (I just hit the big 40 birthday), mostly as a DM for Dungeons & Dragons. I just moved to the Chesapeake/Portsmouth/Virginia Beach area of Virginia in September 2009.
Back in Maryland where I used to live, I used to DM a custom, slightly lower magic Forgotten Realms 3.5 edition campaign that I'm considering running again in Virginia. I'd also like to be a player in a good campaign, if I can find one.
Also interested in trying the d20 post-apocalyptic games like Darwin's World/Gamma World, d20 Star Wars, or a d20 Modern game. Open to other systems, as well, if the group and referee are good.
I prefer to play 1-2 times per month, Friday nights or Saturday during the afternoon and/or night. Sundays during the day are also possible.
I'm looking for gamers aged 25 and older who are friendly, easy-going, mature and interested in playing as a group of friends and just plain having fun, with a balanced game that has a rich plot and a good mix of action and roleplaying. I'm not into evil characters, inter-party theft or conflict, or total character maximization, or pure hack and slash.
